Good things come to those who wait.

I am waiting for #)(@#( Richmond to have injuries.

I waited two years.

Then it looked like good things had come...

But a couple of months later, it became obvious that of their best-22 players they would be missing only the cheating diver (who until recently was rumoured to be about to do a Goldsack).

While I appreciate that we've been screwed by injuries, let's not actually wish pain on human beings in order to get a victory. Poor way of thinking about things IMO.

Similar to the weird booing of Ablett last night. He hadn't done anything wrong really, he's a champion.

I disagree. I wish soft tissue injuries on every opposition from this point forward. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Just 3-4 week jobs. Nothing career threatening.

No one remembers the ‘injuries’ or ‘health’ of teams. No one cares. No one cares that we were missing Jason Cloke (2002), Ant Rocca (2003), N.Brown, Macaffer (2011), Elliott, Wells, Moore (2018). So you know what? F THEM ALL.

I’ve seen the replay twice now. Some of you cats need to relax a little. I really didn’t sense any Cats bias. If anything they bagged the sh!t out of Geelong most of the night. I know we all live with a chip on our shoulder, but calm down, Nicks brethren. Brooth Macavaney was salivating over the Pies.

What's outflanking?

When players run hard to get just outside their opponents when the ball is in dispute in their forward line. They are not actually in the play, but in effect are deploying team defence to limit the defender's options coming out.

Negates or makes switches out of defence harder because you need to run past an opponent to switch, makes teams uncertain and more likely to just go back down the line or try the perilous short chip into the middle.

Can open up the inside though, but you have others pushing up, or able to get into that zone.

Earlier in the Buckley reign our guys were not pushing out far enough and other teams would easily run the ball outside us all the way to their forward lines. We have generally stopped this happening.

Reading the paper over a late breakfast at a local cafe I see that Sidebottom & Phillips both had 10 disposals each in the last qtr, Treloar and Pendles both had 8, then Thomas had 7. Moore & Howe had 6. The pies were -6 in disposals that qtr while the Pies were + 53 overall.

Geelong had 74 tackles which is a fair effort while we had a massive 95.

That’s a hard days work. Well done pies

OK sort of coralling the oppo around the forward stoppages

They were knackered, 2 down on the bench and 95 tackles for the game. Dangerfield almost singlehandedly got the Cats back in it.

But not just soft-tissue injuries, right? Hard-tissue injuries are good too. Cool

Seriously care factor for how much we won by. As for Nick R who gives a ****. Did what we needed to do with a 2 nan interchange bench. Smashed the pushes when it counted. How could you not replace the bull with pure silk. Play wells in a forward pocket with Billy and Stevo. He will kick 3 before they panic and all run to him and then Stevo goes mental. I’m looking forward to all this analysis of how they don’t rate us until our game on Saturday. Oh sorry I forgot we have the week off.

Watched some of the replay, I noticed Phillips was everywhere in the first quarter/half. Noble made some mistakes early but steadied and reminded me of a poor man's Treloar. Adams was hitting everything, Moore started slowly. If Geelong had kicked straight they would have been right in it and it would have been a game where we continually attacked all night.

But they didn't, so we were happy to play conservative footy in the last 45 mins to just keep them out of reach. Our leaders, plus Moore, understood this and so reduced attacking measures to eat into the clock whilst holding possession.

Checkers kicks his goal and its game over, misses.
Rohan, Miers and Tomahawk kick theirs earlier and it's a tight game, missed.
