Wade is bowled off the thigh pad for a duck.
Oz 5/139.
Archer has three wickets.
The collapse is on. Three wickets have fallen in 15 legal balls.
The Wade wicket may have been unlucky, but modern sides cannot stop collapsing.
Marnus is 50* (73). |

Marnus is hit in the groin.
There's a delay. The physio comes out. He looks in a lot of pain even as play resumes. |

Now Marnus is squared up by Stokes and edges just past Burns to the boundary for 4. |

Nasser is impressed by Marnus's old-fashioned patience and leaving of balls.
Nasser: "Make the bowlers come to you."
Gower mentions Smith.
Head and Wade are in danger of being dropped for the next Test. They're not doing worse than the top three, but they can't play in those positions. |

Healy thinks 300 or "high 200s" is the target.
Warne thinks so too.
Warne: "When you win the toss, you want to bowl them out for 250." |

Appeal for LBW. Not out. They review.
No bat involved.
Three reds. Decision reversed. Paine is out.
Oz 6/162.
Woakes has a wicket.
That surprised me a little. I'd hoped it would be umpire's call at worst.
Healy: "I thought it was going down leg."
The new batsman is Pattinson, not Cummins.
Warne: "You felt that it would have been just sliding."
This makes you wonder about DRS... |

Archer is back.
He starts off down leg.
Nasser: "Umpires are getting fidgety. ... Don't know how long England will have."
Warne: "Once you can see the four shadows on the players, you know it's pretty dark."
Archer tries a slower ball. |

Holding revisits the LBW. He gives reasons why the umpire thought it was missing. He gives reasons why it may have been out. (He wasn't very far forward, so there wasn't so far to go to the stumps.)
Warne says Paine looks good but then gets out. Oz could definitely do with more runs from number 7.
Meanwhile, Labu square drives Woakes for 4.
Warne: "It was the width that allowed Labuschagne to throw everything at it."
Warne wanted Labu to get a single off the last ball, but they came back for 2. |

Marnus is now the top scorer in the innings. He and Warner are the only batsmen to make more than 11 so far.
It looks very gloomy. England are a bit lucky here with the weather, after getting the better of the bowling conditions at Lord's too. (At least there they did not win the toss.)
Archer is going around the wicket to the LHed batsman.
Leach has not been used so far. |

Archer gets Pattinson, edging to first slip.
Oz 7/173.
Archer has 4 wickets.
England have perfect conditions -- extremely dark, but just above the light reading the umpires have in mind. Oz have lost 5/37.
Cummins in now.
Healy says we know what's going to happen tomorrow. It'll be bright sunshine for England to bat in. |

Nasser: "This ball continues to swing. A ball that is 37 overs old."
Meanwhile, Holding shows a split-screen comparison of Archer's action at Lords and here. His head position is further forward at Lord's at the point of release and his follow-through higher.
Holding: "I think he's a little bit weary."
Warne: "Get you head forward and straight over your front leg. Whether you're a fast bowler or a spinner..."
Nasser thinks he should avoid bowling bouncers, because it'll trigger the umpires to check the light again. |

Ponting: "The ball has moved around all day. Perfect bowling conditions."
Ponting on Marnus: "He's forced the bowlers to bowl to him." And when they've bowled a little straighter, he hit it through the leg-side.
Athers says you judge the toss decision on how much movement there is, not the scoreline.
Athers says there have been "about 54 plays and misses today". |

Archer gets Cummins caught behind. Cummins reviews immediately.
It looked out.
Waiting for Ultra Edge. Small spike.
Stays out. Cummin's cannot believe it!
The slips were certain.
Oz 8/174 (50).
Archer has 5 wickets.
What should Marnus do here?? Farm the strike? Hit out? |

Deep point. Deep square leg.
Ponting: "Nathan Lyon's not the worst."
Ponting's not sure Cummins hit that. The third umpire probably couldn't overrule...
There was some sound, but ... |

They go for 2 so Marnus can keep strike. Direct hit from the deep. Appeal. TV.
Not out!
Good running from Lyon, who is far from athletic.
But Marnus misses a full toss. LBW. He reviews in hope. He fell over as the ball struck him.
He's bent over, shaking his head.
3 reds. It's out.
74 (129).
Oz 9/177. Deep trouble.
Stokes gets a wicket.
Oz have lost 7/41. |
