Sorry, that's no excuse. A couple of umpiring decisions went against them and others for - including Baguely's goal. Sure, boo the umpires, but don't boo a champion receiving his medal. If we did the same I'd call that out too.
Not a big deal in the scheme of things but definitely lacking in class.

I agree with everything here. He tried twice and failed twice.

I disagree with this. The Bombers got two dubious free kicks directly in front of goal. There may have been one obvious free kick (the Stephenson one) that wasn't given, but it was in their defensive zone, which has far less impact that frees directly in front of goal. The umpiring was woeful for both teams!!! |

David king's take on the game today is a joke - harping on about umpiring decisions. While we did get a few questionable non holding the ball decisioms, the bombers got at least 2 of the softest free kicks that gifted goals.
We got smashed in clearances which is a concern - but apart from that, I don't think we were outplayed as much some folks are suggesting. The drug cheats kicked some arsy goals and we missed some sitters. If anything i felt the game was evenly matched after our 33pt lead and the margin would have resembled that if we didn't give away the 5 easy misses.
The class of Pendles, Steele and de goey got us over the line in the final 10 mins. |

No problem with booing a bad decision or a bad act by a player. Big problem with booing during the ANZAC Day ceremony. What a disgraceful effort by Essendon fans. Pendlebury is a fair player and a champion of the game. Pies deserved to win and I thought they hung on really well as Dons had all the momentum with 5 minutes to go.
Daniher and Stringer played out of their skin and Collingwood’s poor conversion almost cost us.
That said there were a lot of positives out of the game - Grundy Pendlebury Howe JDG WHE back Phillips and Sidebottom back in form. Adams was good and Treloar good but I always mark him hard and he needs to kick into 50 better.
We just need to chalk up the wins and next Friday will be a massive game against Port

Considering he was borderline putrid, despite one lucky shot at goal, he owed the actual talented players in the team at least that much.

We just banked four points against reasonable opposition but once again the priority is bagging the usual soft targets and always by the same “ supporters “ with the same agendas.
No one has yet mentioned Greenwood. If anyone is not up to it, it’s Greenwood. The game has passed him by, it has for a while.
Every other player who has been bagged in this thread showed a bit at various times in the game. Levi, not so much. |
