Here is a KPF we where Very Closely linked to in last years Draft but had a Chance of Picking at 51 but we decided to Pass on him and Give that Pick to GWS.
Riccardi has played last 2 weeks and Looks like a Ready Made Star up Forward in a Postion we are Desperate for.
Hine only take Cat-B or Father Sons as KPF's. Refuses to Draft or Trade one in.
Big Reason why we did not win a Flag in the last 2 Years

what GWS said about Riccardi last year.
The GIANTS have added more firepower to their forward line by selecting Jake Riccardi with pick 51 of the 2019 NAB AFL Draft.
The GIANTS traded up to secure the 195cm 20-year-old, who had a stunning year in the VFL in 2019, kicking 38 goals in 20 games for Werribee.
They traded a future third round (tied to North Melbourne) for pick 51 and Collingwood's future fourth round pick.
Riccardi – who was a member of the Calder Cannons NAB League squad in 2017 and 2018 – won the Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal as the best young player in the VFL, showing consistency throughout the season under former GIANTS assistant coach Mark Williams.
A strong mark and a deadly set shot, Riccardi kicked six goals in a game against Coburg and booted three as Werribee were knocked out of the VFL finals by Essendon. |

Ned Guy needs to be in the frame here too I would have thought DTM.

Ned Guy needs to be in the frame here too I would have thought DTM. |
Hine is in Charge of the Drafting as our Head Recuriter.
Guy came in after the Poor Job Hine did as List Manager

| Nothing to do with Hine. We made the decision last year to offer contracts to Varcoe and Reid. Can’t remember too many Collingwood supporters out there dissenting with that view. That meant we only had three picks in the national draft and nobody can complain with who Hine picked with his third choice, Ruscoe. So I hope everyone is enjoying the performances of Varcoe and Reid for us this year because that’s the reason Riccardi isn’t playing for us. |

How he thought with any intelligence that Reid, Varcoe or Thomas/Appleby (despite being contracted) would exceed the output of fresh talent such as Riccardi was staggering then as it is now

So we rather keep List Cloggers/Finished Players on the List

After his first two games, then 16 other clubs would be kicking themselves too.
Let’s just get a bigger sample size before we start anointing him as the next big thing.
Freos defence and pressure was poor today but to Riccardis credit, he did make them pay. |

Same can be said for Noah Balta. Pick 25 in 2017. Pretty sure it was a pick we gave up. We were big on Balta as well. Not Hines fault as it was a club decision that we will pay for the next 8 to 10 years. Plus who knows what KPP we could have taken a punt on with the two first rounders we gave up for Beams.

Well this Nickster posted at the time with the subject line being "Is keeping Ben Reid on the most staggering list decision in our history" with the content questioning the lucidity and intelligence of all involved. You didn't need to be Nostradamus to realise that Reid would:
* Get injured pre-season: tick against Tigers in Wangaratta
* Reid would come back and play two games and het injured: tick
* Reid would be managed but still get injured: tick
I'll goes as far to say that Ben Reid is the most selfish player in 20 years to not pull the plug on his career and admit to his coach that his body was cooked in 2017.

I want Graham Wright back at our club, stuff the Dawks, hes a PIes man, and they have had him as their recruting guy long enough, come how now, Wrighty ! Hine is past use by date, methinks.

I don't think many Nicksters thought keeping Reid was a good idea.
Half and half with Varcoe.
I posted last year the large drop off in Varcoes stats.
Hasn't improve this year I imagine. |
