R1 selection 2019 is akin to 2018 when Smith played ahead of Schaz.

I do tend to agree the Greenwood should have played on Selwood on a "horses for courses" policy. That said, Greenwood is a fringe player, at best, and a witch's hat, at worst, because of his lack of pace, so it's probably best that we not look to attribute magical powers to him. Whilst I would have played him against Geelong, I would also have accepted the possibility that Selwood might have slaughtered him and had 45 possessions. Selwood is a very, very good footballer. Greenwood isn't. |

Quoted for truth; but at least we can't play any worse [we hope...]

In the horses for courses context it was foolish to leave Greenwood out. Greenwood is not the messiah but he knows how to play on Selwood |

Totally. Game lost at selection table; despite the inept disposal standard. |
Are you suggesting that if we had played greenwood we might have won? Because i disagree our 22 out there should have been able to get it done, they were not good enough. Call it mindset, calll it pre-season fitness. For me Greenwood would not have won us that game. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

As bad as we played (Geelong were awful too), we led by a kick with 6:11 on the clock. Fast forward 2 mins later and we’re down 6 points due to 2 x goals from centre square clearances. Selwood also kicked a goal, had a hand in setting up a few others. So yeah, in a tight game like that, Greenwood sitting on Selwood helps win that one. Four important points already squandered at the selection table. _________________ Est. 2002 |

I tend to agree here. We will never know but nothing has been said that Selwood played a different role than previous years. There was some stat that he started on the wing more than any other time in previous years and his time starting in the middle was the lowest for years. Who knows if Greenwood would keep him quiet out in the open spaces of the wing. |

It'd be shit. It'd be like talking to yourself and being too afraid of hearing different opinions. So, it'd be like living in China or another Communist / Socialist State. |
Yeah. Totally like it. |
