Jett Buckley is a dud, nothing like his old man.

Don't worry, there'll be a banner for that, one day. The poor kids better not take up elite sport or they'll be like Jordi Cruyff - just being good enough to play for your country won't be enough.

Treloar.

Could do a Libba and be banished to the VFL unless he improves.

I'd expect Varcoe, Phillips and Brown are rather unsure as to at what venue their services will be required next week...

Cal Brown also kicked the ball into a bullflogs player in the back line resulting in a goal.
Phillips good and woeful at times, standard stuff.
Things slow down when Aish is part of a chain from halfback, loves dinky sideways kick with no penetration or gives it off to someone else who can kick.
Thomas was poor in first half, as was Stevo, but they redeemed themselves when the game was there to be won in the last

It was evident in the game day thread.

These two players were not liked by many posters in there.

For a moment, I thought this said Jeff Buckley.

Time for more inkblots.

I don't know why people can't evaluate according to what they see - Phillips isn't my favourite player, by any means - and I punched the wall as hard as anyone else on Nick's when he turned the ball over for that goal in the second quarter - but it's good to recognise the good things they do, too and I thought his good far outweighed his bad yesterday. He was clearly one of our best.

Maybe people do, but they see different things. It's clear you and others see different things watching Grundy, for example.

I can't help it if people are so fixated on how good our medium mids are supposed to be that they want to blame Grundy when our mids can't get it because they are over-rates as a group. Of course, people were talking the same sort of rubbish about Grundy and Sidebottom last year and, let's face it, the only reason one or other of them didn't win the Brownlow Medal is because they took votes from each other.
