With the long reign of wee Jarryd Blair having come to an end with his de-listing there is now an open vacancy for a player to become the most unfairly castigated player on Collingwood’s list.

So who’s it going to be in 2019?

For much of last year Tom Langdon received heavy criticism, particularly in the Game Day threads, only to ruin his chances by starring during the finals campaign. Bugger.

So what about that “frightened rabbit” Phillips? Or Darcy Moore and his “hamstring awareness” issues. Or that perennial cripple Ben Reid who even the German witchdoctor can’t cure. Newbies such as Quaynor and Roughie might prove promising candidates for a season of failure, and old bangers like Dunn and Varcoe are always showing the potential to break down and stuff up a game. And let’s not forget Daicos and the Brown Bros. and the heavy expectation on them as they hide away in their fathers’ shadows.

There is a host of others to choose from and it shapes up to be an enjoyable year for the negative and critical bellyacher that masquerades as a Pies fan. So pick a man and start whipping.

A player continually ridiculed til he put in a fantastic 2018 was Chris Mayne

If by any chance he doesn’t make the twenty two as some members suggest in their team selection would he be a candidate

Certainly hope not cos he was very involved in our 2018 resurrection

I can't see why not. After all he lost us another Grand final last year. Rolling Eyes

I wont miss the Blair threads.

Sadly, I think it'll be Ben Reid.

Not really sure how Crocker survived. He won’t get a game this year so he also won’t be a whipping boy. [/search]
