You? Impartial on Biden? Err .... who is the one on this forum who regularly parrots the Trump Fan Club talking points re this topic? You are way over-invested in this horse.

The fact that you consistently see or imagine relatively minor issues in one candidate's makeup and bring them up over and over again, and somehow equate them to the known, unchallenged ones of a whole different order of magnitude in the other candidate has reminded me many times over the last few months of Matthew 7:5.

Ironically, I think the exact same can be said for mainstream liberal discourse around Trump. It’s not that the things said about him aren’t true (most are, though I do find there’s a tendency to fixate on irrelevancies sometimes) but that people who are against him tend to have such a one-track mind that they ignore or downplay the problems of the opposing "side", which at this point seems to include much of the corporate sector, Silicon Valley, the intelligence community, sections of the Republican Party, as well as (this goes without saying) the same old corrupt centrists who run the Democratic Party, of which Biden himself – a man who’s spent his entire career selling out to the right, doing the will of wealthy donors and blocking social progress of any kind – is a prime specimen. The funny thing is that I know you share a lot of my cynicism regarding those forces, and yet seem to be more annoyed by those on the left who express that.

Ultimately, I’m not a member of the Biden campaign PR team, and am not an American citizen or voter. I feel no responsibility to temper my reactions to or observations about this election, and if it seems I go after Biden more than Trump it’s only because there’s little about the latter that isn’t obvious. Of course he’s a cretin, wildly unsuited to the job, dangerous etc. Maybe that can’t be said too many times. But I don’t see much point in preaching to the choir.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/oct/25/coronavirus-mike-pence-continues-campaign-tour-despite-chief-of-staffs-positive-test

Quote:
Donald Trump’s White House chief of staff made an unusually candid admission on Sunday – that the administration does not intend to contain the coronavirus crisis.

“We’re not going to control the pandemic,” Mark Meadows said, bluntly.

The former hard-right congressman from North Carolina made the revealing remark as confirmed cases of Covid-19 reached new peaks and hospitalisations rose rapidly in 38 states. The contagion also continues to ravage the White House itself, with the chief of staff to Mike Pence and four others in the vice-president’s inner circle having tested positive.

Meadows repeatedly sidestepped questions about the administration’s responsibility for combatting spread of the virus. Instead, in a contentious interview with CNN’s State of the Union, he highlighted what he called “mitigating” factors, including the search for a vaccine and new therapeutics that could bring down the death rate.

Even so, the number of deaths in the US is back up at about 1,000 a day.

Asked why the administration was not going to control the pandemic, Meadows replied: “Because it is a contagious virus.”

Here's a good suggestion from Biden that I hope comes to pass:

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/10/22/politics/biden-supreme-court/index.html

Although I had to laugh at this:

Quote:
Biden warned against the Supreme Court turning into a political football.

To win what exactly is the more pertinent question.

While fun to parody its as definitive as the Rashomon effect🙄

I’ve called my daughters my wife’s name before, mixed their names up etc on plenty of occasions, means nothing.
