If I was Bucks talking about Pendles, I'd be saying (tongue firmly in cheek) "He's clearly the second best player in Collingwood's history" and then offer no further comment or clarification and let everyone else go to town working out exactly what he means! |

I coached him. What a disappointment that he preferred to be around his high school mates instead of working hard to be an AFL player. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

It's crazy to even imagine it, but I reckon there's a good chance Pendles will get to 400 games! |

I want him to get to 100 games, win a Norm Smith and hang a GF medal around his neck. Then meet some athletic sheila, and produce at least three sons eligible for the father/son rules. Hope he has a long and successful AFL career and happy fulfilling life.
And becomes Club President. _________________ ___________________

On Cox, this line in The Guardian's piece on Friday night's game made me laugh:
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/aug/08/embracing-the-chaos-collingwood-prove-theyre-more-than-black-and-white-contenders
Quote: | The career of Mason Cox is a textbook study in embracing imperfection. He has brought so much to Collingwood, and to the competition. Sometimes, when he’s flopping and floundering about, he can resemble a freestyler in a bathtub. But when he’s in his flow state, he’s more than a novelty, more than a ‘great story’. He can sink your season. For coaches, for ruckmen, and for defenders, Cox is incredibly hard to counter because he doesn’t play like anyone else. He drifts and ambles about, stoops over, reaches up, dinks it sideways. He grows into games. You can sense the helplessness and bewilderment in his opponents – ‘I’m being towelled by a Texan engineering student in swimming googles!’ |

He only took 2 marks against the Ducks, both were telling.
The first resulted in a goal, the second was a solid grab deep in defence in front of Gawn in the last quarter.
Doing an outstanding job. Needs 3 goals to get to 100. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

I predict that Cox will be our secret weapon from now to the Grand Final.
I think with the better weather coming, he will hold more marks or hold up the ball in the forward line.
In form, as we know he can terrorise the opposition...and he will! _________________ Jamie Elliott...you beauty
