Post subject: Boring subtexts in posts | |

I found it interesting for a while but the continuing hijacking of posts with endless comparisons of poster’s favourites and most hated is just boring now ... in my opinion.
Can’t the posters involved take their discussion to VPT? _________________ Four legged animals good, two legged animals better |

Excuse me? Do you think the VPT is the dumping ground for stuff you don't like, like some nuclear-waste disposal site deep underground in Siberia? If David reads that, he will look like this: |

Shouldn’t this thread be in “Feedback”, rather than “GD”? |

Nobody reads feedback and that’s why you and your nemesis keep going with your boring crap in the GD. _________________ Four legged animals good, two legged animals better |

David can do what he likes. I’ll take the reprimand should it come. 12 months plus of Langdon / Sidey bullsh$t which has gone nowhere. It’s two maybe three people using Nicks for personal diatribes.
I’m not asking the debate to stop. I’m asking that people move it out almost every thread on the board.
I suspect without the audience they crave it will dry up pretty quickly. _________________ Four legged animals good, two legged animals better |

For those struggling to understand this thread, the following may help:
Subtext: noun. A subtle or hidden meaning embedded within a text which mainly concerns a different, more obvious subject.
Then again, since the thread does not actually seem to be about subtexts, possibly it won't help. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Thanks for the reminder.
I’ll bring this up with the rest of the mod team and see what they think, but my impression is that it’s not a problem to argue about the merits of players, even ad nauseam – this is, after all, a football discussion forum. If your complaint is over something more specific, such as off-topic posting or thread derailments, then that could constitute something that might need to be reined in (and is probably best dealt with through specific post reports, so we can see what’s going on). _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Jokes aside, Pies players as heroes or villains is definitely a GD topic, and VPT is for non-sports topics. I do prefer threads to be on topic, very broadly speaking, and there not to be a dozen threads on the same topic. For example, there is in GD a dedicated Blair thread now, although it's apparently no longer necessary to try to use ESP to remind people to use that thread, now that said player is in the VFL. |

Well, at least I know who you're directing your comments at, now. I guess that's a start (of sorts).
Perhaps you might submit a list of approved topics, so people can stick to them. |

Anything that doesn’t have the infantile Sidey is better, No Langdon is, is not, is too, is not etc is approved _________________ Four legged animals good, two legged animals better |

You obviously harbour a deep, slightly pathetic, anger about this.
Anyway, I’ve taken your comments on board and I won’t engage with Qld on his pet subjects (Beams, Sidey, Scharenberg and Langdon). You’ll likely find that the consequent space will be filled by other equally irritating things. At least Qld and I are nice to each other about our differences and - albeit I didn’t appreciate we were upsetting you - we both thought we were having a bit of gentle fun at each other’s expense. But it’s stopped now. |

The mods team are aware of many, many examples of Nicksters "repeating their boring crap".
Unless its off-topic or particularly offensive, we don't propose to do much besides roll our eyes and yawn.
As long as it doesn't contradict the Rules, we are generally prepared to let it stand.
That being said, we have been known to send the very occasional, "can you please give it a rest for a while" recommendation.
Luckily, Jarryd Blair hasn't looked like being seriously considered for the seniors, so both sides of the debate have been relieved. |
