Mitch McGovern has formerly requested a trade from the Adelaide Crows. Surely we have to be in the mix. He would be better suited to the Pies than Lynch. Won’t cost as much salary wise. However we will need to offer something decent as he is contracted.
What would you be prepared to offer?

Whateley and Robbo both tipped Carlton as his likely destination. _________________ All We Can Be |

Talk is that he's going to Carlton.
He's a decent fit for us at best I'd say. Another medium forward (190cm) to add to our arsenal and would allow us to play De Goey and Stephenson more midfield.
His stats aren't great (1.4 goal avg with a career high of 32 goals in his first year). On those stats he'd be behind our other three medium forwards. Also, the last two years he's only just managed more than half a season, so another player with durability issues?
Definitely someone you'd look at but does not fill a significant need. The forward line isn't where we should be focusing in my view and that includes Lynch. Much bigger bang for buck if we give our defence some attention and even our midfield. _________________ Well done boys! |

McGovern is happy to come to Victoria.
He’s also off two ankle surgeries, so he’s got some rehabbing to do.
He’s probably worth a late first rounder for a club who feels the need for a second or third tall forward.
I’m not sure why we still focus on the “ need “ for tall forwards.
Our forward line is functioning beautifully. It’s multidimensional and it ranks as the third highest points for average in the comp.
Our focus simply has to be any best 22 KPD who slots straight into our backline and has at least 5 more years in him.
We are on the up and we can’t afford to lose ground because we haven’t addressed the losses of Dunn, Shaz in 2019. Moore still hasn’t signed and Reid’s body can’t be trusted. |

^^Not only KPD but upgrading our medium defenders would be a priority for me. Just as up forward I think these are now as or even more important than keys. If Moore stays we aren't desperate for a KPD at all. _________________ Well done boys! |

I'd play him at CHB - have we got any of those left? If we miss out on Lynch and May he'd be worth a look if we thought he could play well in defence (or if we thought Mihocek would be as good down back as up forward) but sounds like we'd end up in a bidding war with Carlton, which would only bode poorly for us.

Only 190cm though. He plays tall but not sure he's got the size to be a CHB, certainly not a better one than Howe could be. _________________ Well done boys! |

IF Moore stays, then who is our second key defender at the start of the 2019 ?
They will want Howe playing off his opponent, so he won’t be playing in key position.
If we pick Quaynor as an NGA, we will have added another quality HBF to our list anyway and with young Kelly still to come later in the draft. |

Yep, KPD would still be a need just not a desperate one. As with up forward you can get away with one KPD and mediums, heck we've done ok with no KPD.
And when I say not a desperate need, I mean we don't need to go out and find a star or potential star KPD. Moore is that. A solid KPD alongside him is all we would need. That could still be McLarty or even Madgen, and it looks like we will have Will Kelly developing, but finding another option could be a mid level priority. _________________ Well done boys!

Crows want Lucozade and will probably settle for number one pick in exchange for one of their first round picks and McGovern. Could be some steak knives as well. We can't match that. MCGovern will get more money at the scum than with us. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |
