Great to finally get a win on the board and even more so when it's against the scum. Was an improvement on last weeks' game. We looked better structurally up forward and I loved that we rotated our mids in and out of there to unsettle the scum backline because they were able to use their speed to run forward and create space.

Midfield looked sharper and fluid. Still the odd howler and clanger but not as OTT as previous weeks. Wish we'd stop forward handballing to a player standing still because we get caught out each and every time. Every team is onto it and it always results in a tackle and turnover.

Used the corridor more which was great. We're a very dangerous team when we take the game on this way. Loved WHE and Thomas running in to create opportunities. We can expose a lot of defenses doing this.

Still overusing the ball at times which seems to come from either not knowing what to do, not wanting to make a mistake or not having the vision to look beyond the player standing 5 mts to your side.

Not as many of the obvious and glaring skill errors which result in confidence killing turnovers and goals the other way. Body language was positive and I thought we tackled, harassed and played to our strengths.

I'm beginning to see just how good we can be when we get our sh!te together. Also, the scum are an awful team and bolton doesn't seem to have done much to improve them.

Some very puzzling umpiring decisions that even confused the commentators.

Bring on next week!

Don't you think Bucks can show a bit of happiness even in a win? I know there are areas that need improvement, but can't that wait for the postmortem; we won the first game of the year, yes it was against the low ranked Carlton, but a win is a win. Show some positiveness so that it will rub off on the players - improve their confidence and synergy. Too serious.

That's his public face.

Did you see the shots of him, in the rooms, after the game ? Very happy. Smile

Still getting killed at the fall of the ball and centre clearances. Many players found some form though.

It's great if that is so.

If the players can feel that the coach is proud of them, at least when they win that is a big step in the right direction. I don't think his being too honest and critical all the time in public helps the team morale much. Sometimes it's nice just to forget logic and just enjoy the ride.

In what ways do you think he has been too honest in public?
I think he seemed more grumpy (by his standards --- not anything on the MM scale) with the journalists than with the players, actually.

No rant from Dyso tonight coz we just got one win closer to overturning that horrible carlton stat lol

Not yet anyhoo! Was out all night, and didn't see the game in full, so no wobbly tantrum this week. Will have a look at replay tonight or tomorrow, and hopefully find some positives; i'm sure there are a few.

And yes, we must level up that vile W/L ratio against these flogs.
We get another shot at them in 2018 yeah?

The Blues have had a lot of positive media since Bolton took over. Nothing to show for it on the field though. Bottom two in scoring in his time, for a team that supposedly plays "modern", "attacking" footy.

Above a threshold of basic competence, coaching is overrated. A good coach with a poor list is a poor coach. See Pagan, malthouse, et al.

Any day is a good day to beat the Scum, especially at Easter time.
Happy Orthodox Easter for those that celebrate it folks!

An important win.
Sidey is already on his way to another Copeland.
Murray is a standout because he runs with the ball (which is lacking in our team)
Treloar is injured but battling up forward.
Our forwards finally lead up to the mids and presented.
Brown played his best game to date
Thomas took his opportunities.

Crisp is really struggling and is therefore very panicky
Stephenson will be ok but will be first to be replaced with others coming back

All over, it’s great to finally win. Some have mentioned how quiet it’s been after a win. Supporters have been through some tough times over the last 5 years with not much substance and progress evident.
Let’s be honest, Carlton are rubbish.
Let’s win against Adelaide and Essendon to really get the fans excited.

The VFL win was awesome and hopefully some players make their way into the seniors next week.
