Post subject: Welcome back Schazza | |

The CFC website is reporting that Scharenberg had 41 disposals on the weekend. I've never heard of a half back flanker racking up those sort of numbers. So he's not just knocking on the door of AFL promotion, he's smashed the phucking door down. Welcome to the senior team Schazza. I was an early critic of yours, but it seems you have proved me wrong. Hope you have a 10 year career with the Pies. |

Love it Rudeboy!
I haven't seen any vfl this year so rely on the awesome contributions from the Bat and others who report on it, really want to see this guy in the seniors sounds like he's ready. _________________ Tear the roof off tha sucker!!! |

41 disposals and running at 91% efficiency. He is going to be a super star and I reckon the forwards can't wait for him to drill the ball to them on the lead. |

It really would be an ideal week to ease him back in; the statistically weakest opponent in the AFL at present, thus a lot less pressure on him to do anything exceptional to retain his spot? _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

The Bat man posted that the Pies really played an ( over ) possesion game, partic in the back half ( Ramsay picked up 30 + too )
Broomhead, Brown and Thomas all with 30 or more. That's a lot of possessions full stop.
I imagine Scharenberg couldn't have been allocated a one on one opponent all day or he would have either a ) been dragged away from the play or b ) been given a more accountable opponent well prior to his 40th touch.
I'm not getting caught up in his numbers as to whether he is ready or not but the confidence he would be gaining from the continuity, would be immeasurable to the kid right now. His time will come.
He reminds me a little of Shane Morwood. Similar rangy build, not fast ( but doesn't usually get caught ) and just glides around the park using the ball well. |

How many of those were contested?
Or was it mainly chipping around the backline? _________________ Beware the swooping Magpie. |

pfffft.....VFL form means two things, jack and shit, and jack just left town. Play him for sure but let's measure him on AFL form, like anyone. _________________ RED "BABY" CAVANAUGH: Didn't hear what the bet was.

Hmmmmm.........I would have thought it's a bit hard to judge Scharenberg on AFL form, when he's playing in the VFL. |

I'd hazard a guess that they are sticking to a plan to play him in the seconds until the bye round, so that he gains full match-fitness and confidence in his body at the slower-paced level.
It's all about risk management for Shaz right now. He just can't afford another major injury setback, and the club would be ultra careful in managing him properly this time around, before he becomes a star in our senior side. |

Lucky he didn't rack up tidy 50 touches. Bux wouldn't have rated that at all! |

The start of the season they set him a goal to play 6 straight in the 2's before considering him in the ones. One of my mates is friends with Sando _________________ DAICOS might try the torpedo here, he does and THUMPS it LOOK AT THAT its home!!! |

It's this sort of rigid thinking that has got us into trouble so early into the season. Coaches need to follow their instincts and hunches about players rather than follow some predetermined plan about when players can play or not play. Trust me. Scharenberg is ready. |
