Haven't character references been used in the past???
I seem to remember they have, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, Why did our president have to jump in.
Couldn't someone else jump in?
Distracts from our focus.
It is why I would like a background President that is invisible to the media .

Can't agree there thomspoc.
It's what presidents of other clubs should do when this crap is served up.
I think you'll find more clubs voicing their disapproval also. Has to be a minimum of 4 weeks, there is no alternative.

The point is Skids is that he allegedly put himself into an extreme weight loss situation.
Whether that is true or not I do not know.
That is bound to throw up criticisms from a host of medical people.
If you want to live a peaceful and quiet life.
Don't put yourself out there.
In particular, when you are President of Collingwood

I think the weight loss thing is a clear red herring, but why does Eddie have to comment on everything that ever comes up?
I note some on here feel his large profile and willingness to steam in on issues of only minor relevance to Collingwood is to his and the Clubs credit and advantage...I certainly feel differently, particularly when there is so much work on the home front to get our own house in order.
So I guess its a matter of what one sees the role of the Pres being....I notice that the poll is 2 to 1 against him staying on

Well we should have got Bob Hawke and Paul Keating to write a character reference for Jason Cloke in 2002 , along with Sports Journalist Scotty Palmer.

the article is utter crap. Eddie needed to lose weight for the sake of his health, no i dont like his method, but if he can now get onto track with healthy eating, he may have saved his own life.
the women in the article were not over weight. i remember the whole Judd thing, the women is naturally thin, lucky her, i cant stand kim kartrashian but in this shes innocent, ive said that myself before! yippe lost a couple without trying! Erin, thats solid hard work right there, no diet on earth gives you abs like that! good on her. so where is the comparison?
but as skids said, how is this Eddies fault? hes news, if he farted in an elevator it would be front page!

exactly what i was thinking on the way to the supermarket! jason cloke was mister nice guy, compare to barry hall who did similar and got to play in a grand final - oooh lookee the AFL got their wish, a bullshit cup for their pet team.

But we all know that there are social do gooders and PC nazi's who could say that Ed is a bad role model.
And where have we heard the role model thing again.
Yep, AFL footy.
I only care about the footy.
But there is a chance some influential do gooder will run with this story.
