VFL side beat Zebra's and the next generation of first nation players namely Kale Kirby ripped ,em apart with a big 6 goal haul
With Wells good as he is with injuries limiting his game time Kirby will be passed the baton eventualy _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Can our keen VFL watchers tell us whether the kid deserves a call up ahead of Blair/Mayne/Brown?
He seems to be able to kick a goal. |

15 goals in the last 3 games, dynamic mark for his size and a fearsome tackler. Only possible worry is has he got the tank for a full game at AFL level? |

Sorreeee bout spelling but he has great promise tho AFL is a big step up for him or Brown or Daicos
I personally think we need a tall forward before we bring in a new untried to AFL level player _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

The guy has talent it is as simple as that.
But he was fat last time I saw him which is well over a month ago now.
So he won't have a tank and won't chase like Goldy.
But ......he has the X factor and unlike Blair can kick goals from anywhere.
Kicked 9 I think in 2 games last year in the VFL for the Tigers and now he is tearing it up with us.
Can't remember the last time a Collingwood player kicked 6 in either the AFL or VFL....now that is a challenge for someone.
I get bored watching some of our matches.
Like watching Howe and like watching Pendles move in his own space - time warp.
But Kirby may just be what
I want to see.
One of the reasons we have done better of late is that Elliot has been booting 3 or so goals a match.
That doesn't sound great but an average of 3 goals is huge.
I reckon Kirby could jag 2 or maybe 3 a game given luck.
Goal kickers are as rare as hens teeth.
And Kirby can be my feathered friend with Teeth!

Get him in the seniors.
I'd be waiting all year for this game, his breakout game, and it was always going to come sooner or later.
Forget Tippingwoody (no idea how to spell that name) or Rioli at Richmond, we have the most exciting young indigenous player and he's almost ready to go.
He's 18 and just kicked 6 goals on AFL listed players (well 5, one was kicked on a VFL listed player). And his 7th shot, on the run after taking half the side on hit the post.
Play him, with Elliott out we need all the spark we can get, and he offers so much more then Blair does now. |

Well from the coaches mouth (Jared Rivers) last Tuesday night at the Epworth Freemason Hospital, Jared told me that Kirby was a huge talent but 5kgs overweight.
PS: Both his and my partner had baby girls on the same night and our partners were both roomed next to each other.
My priorities as you can see were the well being of the VFL list and my partner second _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Without knowing the attitude of Kirby, I just wonder the atitude of the Club with his weight may just lead him to say F.@#ck it!
PS
Tony Lockett wasn't exactly slim and neither was the pig that was thrown onto the ground with the name Plugger on his rump.
It was Plugger and his twin!
Man, don't you miss the good old days!
And if you want a laugh just google Swans plugger pig and the youtube video will pop up.
It is just so so funny!!!!! _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Even better when he kicked that ball at that "Benjamin Button" grey headed dude behind the goals _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Like others here I'm quite excited about the recruitment of Kirby. I've been to a few VFL games including Sundays game at Vic park.
He did very well by kicking 6.
He's kicked 12 in the last 3 games not 15 as was noted somewhere else
He's a great tackler & has speed
However Sandringham are an OK team not a great team by any measure.
If you see the goals on replay (and was evident watching the game) then you'll notice that Kirby had oodles of time to kick some of his goals due to a number of reasons which includes a lack of pressure by a poor Sandringham defence.
This is not to deny Kirby's hard work, goal smarts & ability. It is however to place this in context (whether he is picked or not).
I still think he needs a bit more time in the 2's _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |
