Post subject: AFL Young gun victim of 'catfish' cyber porn attackReply with quote

Quote:
AN AFL young gun has become the victim of a “catfish” cyberporn attack.

The player is being counselled by his club after sending obscene images of himself on social media to a person he thought was a woman.

But it is believed the person was a man, who then passed on the images to an X-rated pornographic website in the United States, which has now posted the lewd naked images online and named him.

It is believed the player was groomed with multiple images exchanged over social media in a “catfish” scam, in which social media or dating apps are used to create false identities.

The club told the Herald Sun, which has chosen not to identify the player or club, that it was seeking legal advice on trying to have the sexually explicit images removed.

“The club’s football department was made aware of the photos several weeks ago and spoke to the player involved and counselled him,” the club told the Herald Sun tonight.

“We will take no further action against him as we consider it a private matter. We are, however, seeking legal advice as it is a criminal offence to maliciously distribute intimate images without consent.”

The AFL’s social media policy prohibits players “accessing, downloading or transmitting … any sexually explicit material”.

The club said the incident was a lesson to all footballers.

“This incident serves as a stark reminder to anyone out there exchanging explicit and private material, online or via social media, to reconsider their actions, because the person they think they’re communicating with could turn out to be someone else with malicious intentions,” it said.

“Simply put, sharing such material without knowing who is going to see it or where it’s going to end up is nothing short of stupid, and shows a complete lack of judgment.

“It is just not worth the risk,” the club said.

Here's hoping it's not a Collingwood player.

Commence speculation..........................Now.

I think the odds of the Herald Sun not naming a Collingwood player are pretty slim.

Yes,if it was a Collingwood player they would go out of their way to name them. But if it wasn't a Collingwood player they would do their best to protect their identity.Go figure.

You would think after the Reiwoldt and Cloke incidents the players would wake up to themselves. Honestly it is drummed into them by the clubs. I await the next instalment of a player hit by car whilst searching for a pokemon.

You can bet it is not a Collingwood player, they would somehow link it to Eddy, Didak and Swan in the one article.

You would have thought after the Riewoldt/School girl thing players would have been smarter than that. That should have been enough for them not to do this kind of thing, I guess there are some that don't seem to learn much.

Horrible that this has happened though, it doesn't make it right that someone does it to someone.

IF it is a Pies player, the Melb Hun would be rubbing their grubby hands in glee, no election on now, slack newsdays, so a good ol six page front and centre bash Collingwood sordid tale coming up, to salivate the peasants and masses. Naturally, if it aint a PIes player it will just rate half a page, next to Andrew bolts rants and dribblings.

When will these dumb a$$ players learn
It's obviously not a pies player or slobbo would have had a 34 page feature article followed up by a month of history of pies players inderscretions asn alleged wrong doings
Do these players realise they can go out and meet any number of woman who would gladly become involved with them for all the trimmings ?

After Googling the pics (impressive!) I then had to Google who he was. I've never heard of him.

I undertook the Google challenge and found the pics, and he is not a Collingwood player..... If it had been Robbo would have named him for sure.

I don't know what the world is coming to.

Take pics of my private parts & send them on the internet to somebody I've never actually met in person.

What could possibly go wrong?

Reported on 7 news that it's a Norf player.

Of course though, news articles can't help but bring Trav and Swanny back up again to illustrate the point. Rolling Eyes
