I've been complaining for the past 3-4 years that we would never be a top team until we had a dominant ruckman. I always rated Grundy, but was worried it would take him until the age of 24 or 25 to come good. Today's game, however, has changed everything. Brodie has arrived, and with him, so have Collingwood's fortunes. Well done Brodie. If he can maintain that type of intensity for the remainder of the year, we'll be a 6 goal better side each week.

A ripper. Saw him dominate against Box Hill years ago and now is doing it at senior level. Grundog will be a huge weapon for us.

Really been amazing the past 3 weeks.

Maybe not in best half dozen rucks in the league, but knocking on the door.

And he is still young and well short of his best.

Could be scarily good.

What was more amazing and pleasing was that he was getting beaten and at quarter time adjusted and just went BAM!

It was never in doubt! I saw enough from Grundy's first year that he would be a terrific player for us but it would take time for his development to be up to scratch.

Ruckman take time to develop and we need to be patient with Grundy, but he's an exciting prospect for us.

Just has to clunk one grab marks and make a few better decisions.
He is getting better by the week.

Every now and then, players have break out games.

That was it.

Goodbye Jarrod Witts.

I like Grundy a lot but, today, his 1st., third and last quarters really didn't justify his BOG status, accorded by nearly all our members (in the GB votes).

He didn't dominate in the ruck and had the worst disposal efficiency % of ALL our players.

His physical impact was massive - make no mistake, Mumford has been actually dismembering opposition midfields this year. It's not just what Grundy did, it's the way he imposed himself on Mumford that mattered. That there was no attempt to hatchet Cloke, Moore or White, eg, was largely down to the opposition having its hands full with the Grundinator.

For one quarter, yes. but he was slightly out rucked and had the worst D/E of any of our players.

Wonderful second term. Smile

No. A fact. Check the votes. 22 out of 23 members gave him their 5. I wonder who the other one voted for ? Smile

No, an opinion, we felt he did justify his BOG status through his impact on the game insofar as clearances and the reducing of the Mummy factor. Very Happy

Must be a full moon or something but I'm finding it very hard to disagree with you today.

Mumford is a physical presence that makes his team stand taller, today Grundy negated that. Our dominance at the centre clearances was largely down to Grundy.

Crossed wire. I thought you were questioning my comment about the GB votes.
