So a 4-40 start on the Eastern seaboard.
I hate those times for a footy match.
Mason Cox vs Nic Nat
I think Nic Nat will go out to try and kill Cox re Sandilands.
Keep him down forward please Bux. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Can't see us overcoming WC's run and relentless pressure. Losing Varcoe for this game is a massive blow. |

True
They really killed us in their run carry and spread last year. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Tough gig playing the Weagles, even tougher on their own dung hill. Would have preferred to go into the game with a NO CHANGE listing next Thursday. Losing Varcoe hurts. Opportunity knocks for Sinclair, Broomhead and Goodyear. One of them obviously gets a gig now. |

Sinclair a definite in if fit. Good replacement for Varcoe, gives us some of his run and better ball use than Trav has provided the last two weeks. Goodyear or another debutant is just a bridge too far.
Cloke should be a chance to play, the Eagles will be much tougher opposition than the Bombers.
Smith deserves another game after playing well today, just worry that he can hurt us in a more difficult matchup. Ideally either he or Maynard would make way for Sinclair, but with Varcoe out they both may play. _________________ Well done boys! |

Sinclair is a definite inclusion.
Cloke is no chance.
Aish should be an out to give him a chance to demonstrate he's worth playing in the seniors. Right now he actually looks totally out of his depth.
Given Varcoe's injury, I reckon Wills or Broomhead will also come in. |

This will be a tough game, especially in Perth which hasn't been a happy hunting ground for us over the years, so I don't have a lot of expectation heading into this match. The Eagles would have been disappointed by their performance on the weekend so they'll be determined to rectify it and produce a better performance.
Losing Varcoe is a massive blow as he provides us with much needed pace and skill that is currently lacking in the playing group.
I'll be interested to see whether Cloke returns or whether we persist with Mason Cox who played well for a first-gamer. Josh Smith did enough to maintain his spot in the side. I'm eager to see Broomhead play as he is now in his fourth year and in desperate need of breaking through sooner rather than later.
If we get within five goals of them I will be happy. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Oh and Cloke is no chance to return if I read the mood of Buckley on footy classified right. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

If, on today's display, we dropped all the players who look totally out of their depth, there'd need to be 7 or 8 changes (Aish, Howe, Crisp, De Goey, Maynard, Smith, Moore and Grundy come to mind but there are probably some I've missed) before Varcoe is replaced for injury. That's not going to happen (and I wouldn't advocate it), so we will be playing about 5 players short of an AFL side again next week. In any event, since there are no senior-standard and match-fit players in the seconds (except, of course, for our actual CHF, who you don't want to play), it would just be rearranging deckchairs.
I'm hoping that the Sidebottom and Pendlebury show can kill the game again next week but, despite how good those 2 are, I fear that even they won't be able to cover all of the holes against competent opposition, so it's the Wiggles by 46 points +.
Selection will probably be funny again this week. Maybe they'll "send a message" at the other end of the ground (it's an even-numbered round, so the backline will be in the gun again) and drop Frost for White? |

A win is a win but we still didn't play super
You can only beat what's put in front of you and we did that
Would be hard for younger players to go in at half time 13 goals up and come out after the break and show the same we narrowly lost the second half but losing Varcoe didn't help for sure
We seemed to go through the motions and tried to play an over procession game style versus the first half when we played quick long direct
I can't see us making changes other than injury and maybe Aish who seems really down on confidence
Sidey played a hell of w game especially the first half when the game was there to be won and he needs to do that for 4 qtrs for us to be any show against the weagles
Cloke doesn't come back in it doesn't take sense to bring him back after 1 game in the seconds which he didn't do anything to demand selection
Cox won't be outmuscled by Nik Nat and his bulk down forward will keep the weagles defenders on there toes
We need to play 4 full on intensity filled skilful qtrs and that might not be enough as our skill level has shown to be below the top sides
For mine Sinclair & Broomhead come in for Varcoe and Aish
Look anything is possible and I would cop a narrow loss if we tried out guts out for 4qtrs |

Yep, if Sidebottom plays a 50 possession, 8-goal game in the centre, we are some chance.
You don't set the bar high for him, do you? |

Don't write the Pies off! Wegirls 'aint as good as they think they are!
Coming off a nice touch up from the Swans, i reckon they're vulnerable to Magpie ambush. We've got nothing to lose and i'm looking forward to some tough, hard pressure from the boys in this one.
Pies by 13 points in a slog at Boobiaco. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |
