You might have a premiership medallion hanging around your neck but you have zero respect among the majority of the die hard, love-your-club-at-all-costs football-going public.
Using free agency to make your way into a club that had won the past 2 premierships gains you nothing but the dishonourable status as a vacuous mercenary.
Make no mistake, you'll be the one they make fun of at the premiership reunions you fraud...

at least he'll have lake, hale and a couple of others to keep him company. who cares. he plays to play in premierships. was loyal enough to melbourne in his time there.
remember buckley left brisbane to play in premierships. that worked out well.

Sooooooooooo, your playing for the basket case that is Melbourne, and all of a sudden, Hawthorn knocks on your door and says;
Look, James, your now a free agent. We need another backman, how about you come to the Hawks, and probably play a premiership or five. And James says, nah, thanks anyway, but I don't want to look like a vacuous mercenary, so I'll stay at the Dees and never play a final.
Winners can laugh, and losers like you can please yourselves..

Not all "winners" command respect.
Oh, and I'm not sure that we'd won flags in each of the two years prior to Luke Ball arriving had we?!? Errrr, no. Oh that's right, we were watching from the side lines while Luke Ball was playing in a grand final at an opposition club. Hardly the same.

I doubt he's going to give a shit personally, he has a premiership medal and no one can take that away from him.

Luke Ball was in effect not wanted by the Saints. According to "gun' coach Ross Lyon, he was a fringe senior player who got limited minutes in their grand final. If they gave him the respect he deserved he would never have left St Kilda.

Good luck to him. I'm more pissed off that the sniper Hodge got another premiership. Well not really pissed off, that's overstating it but if I were to be pissed off, it would be about Hodge & Lewis
