Am allowed to boo Buckley? Cos if I am, I won't stop until Berg is in the team.

A pathetic small change of players.
Why don't we just give a number of VFL players a go.
It is why I find the whole business depressing.

Or does it mean we'll be playing in all black strip this Saturday?
This is on the email sent out around the Asia-Pacific region by the ABC's Australia Plus service (for which those who get it are extremely grateful). |
Name and shame, send it into Media Watch.

Very conservative selection. We've seen enough of Maynard, we surely need to see more of Kennedy and Scharenberg. Only excuse not to play Matt is that he may not be at peak fitness after missing a lot of footy.
It's been a disappointing season for Kennedy, still struggling to get a game.

It'll be interesting to see if Pendles plays out the year.
With finals out of the equation might be better to get our most prized commodity in for surgery which I assume he probably will need.

Well, that - and the fact that he was very ordinary in the VFL last week, despite the Collingwood Media Department Fanzine review of his game.
Of course, you might still get your wish, since he's an emergency.

Believe it or not, we're still in the finals race inky. Bucks is not going to gift anyone games. He's picking the best possible team to win. Putting aside his (thus far) lack of commitment to the Pies, based purely on form, both Maynard and Marsh have played better football at both VFL and AFL level, than has Scharenberg. Because of his ability to read the ball well in the air, I would only consider playing the bergermaster if Langdon was unavailable, because that's the role he plays.

how about our american Pie, young Cox, give the lad a go, and schrenberg, surely should have come in. Dunno bout this side, the tiges are sniffing for a top four spot, so i think its another loss, close one.
THE Question is, CAN Nicks crew sustain another HONOURABLE LOSS. ????

Agree totally with the philosophy behind this selection. We are still selecting only our best 22 in order to win. We definitely should do this for the rest of the season, win lose or draw this weekend. I don't believe in gifting games to young players just to see how they perform. This is not a true test!! Everyone would know that we no longer care about the result, and performances would diminish accordingly. the only way to give true match practice to our young players is to select, and play, as if every game from here on in matters. This argument is reinforced by the fact that we could still, against all the odds, sneak into the final 8 if we win all our next games.
I just wasn't sure about choosing between Scharenberg and Maynard, but will agree with the selection panel's decision. I am sure that they have more info about player's current form and match ups than I do.

Is Goldsack MIA? Not in the ones or twos and not on the injury list.

Knee tendinitis. Buckley said in his presser a couple of days ago that Sack may not play again this year.

If the Collingwood Crows turn up, we're a good chance to win, but if it's the Collingwood Magpies, Tigers by plenty…..
Tigers by 65.
