Well trendsetters, it's less than 2 weeks until the 42.2k and I haven't run for almost a month.
It feels good today but I won't run until I get home next weekend. Been doing heaps on the bike (stationary one at work) and weights on alternate nights.
Going to just cruise the course and soak up the atmosphere. If I can finish in under 5 hours I'll be happy. It's my birthday the following day so that has become the main focus of the trip.
And hopefully catch up with Dyso. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

No run at all for me
Gave it a little test and failed miserably. Would only do further damage by trying to cover the distance.... ah well, it's going to be a fun holiday anyway. Arrive Brisbane at 1930hrs tomorrow and away we go! _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Actually Miss Jojo, while you blaze your way across the U.S. of A., upsetting more people than the Donald Trump campaign, Skids, Mrs.Skids and I had a nice feast of steak, chicken schnitzels and parmies at the Southport SLSC last sunday night from 6.30-10.00pm,
washed down by a couple of wines, froffies and cokes. Don't ask him what happened to Mrs.Skids first wine glass, or the flying set of keys...
Had a grand old time chatting about the AFL & WAFL, and life in general.
Was amazing to meet somebody I had starting sharing PMs with in 2003.
Was only after we left and parted ways for the evening, that we realised nobody had thought to take a group-selfie photo on their phones. D'oh....
Unfortunately Skids achillies injury was giving him too much grief, and it's not a ligament that can be easily fooled into running 42ks, thus he missed competing in the GC marathon, which was a shame. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Closer to 10.00pm actually Stui; Skids and Kelly had a road trip planned for the monday to Toowoomba [I think], thus needed their kip and an acceptable BAC for the drive too I imagine.
Skids had been up since sparrows-fart, and had walked over 20ks on the sunday morning, as his achilles wouldn't allow him to run the marathon. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Spot on Dyso. 27ks of walking supporting my mates who did the run. Actually jogged a few hundred metres between the 28 & 29k mark handing out bananas.
Was fantastic to catch up Dyso, enjoyed the evening very much.
150k out of Sydney at present and starting to get pumped for the game at Spotless tomorrow. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Had an ultrasound today. Small tear in the tendon, back to the quack tomorrow to see where we go from here.

Apparently you can burn as many calories having sex as you can jogging, just need to do it for a similar amount of time. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Shit. And drinking yourself into oblivion each day won't help you keep weight off either.
Can you at least do laps in the pool? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Haven't been drinking much at all lately Stui (I've had a cold/flu for the past week) or doing any sort of exercise.
As soon as this colds gone that's exactly what I will be doing. Got an indoor heated pool just a 5k bike ride away. I haven't had a swim for ages so that should be interesting _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |
