Now for some good news.
The Collingwood football club is currently on 1490 wins. this means that either this year or early next year, in ten wins time, we celebrate 1500 wins in the VFL/AFL Competition.
Since number 1000 happened in 1977, the 38 to 39 year period stacks up very well with the 40.5 year periods of the other two 500 wins, obviously biased a bit towards the first half of the century - more wins less games per year.
So in spite of lack of premierships lately, we have been remarkably consistent. The others have their golden eras, but we are always there. |

Nice statistic, RITF. I expect we'd have to win at least one final for it to happen this year. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Good pick up… who is second and how much further back are they?
with the pies playing every year since 1897 - 2015 (118years) that's more than 12 wins every year - certainly good value for supporters - even if it has been a little front loaded
A chance to do it this year… although most likely will be in 2016! _________________ Love us or Hate us... we are Collingwood - you can't ignore the Mighty Magpies!!! |

Given how Carlton are travelling I'm tipping University to beat the Blues to 1500 |

Remember Eddie making a big song and dance about the race to 1300. At that time we were neck and neck with Carlton and got there a few weeks before them. Now we are miles ahead.
May have been around early 2000 just as Carlton was beginning what I consider their golden era - 3 spoons and 2 runners up for the spoon. Their second golden era is dawning - more spoons to come😄 |

Just saw something that was another nice trivia point.
We are undefeated at Manuka oval in Canberra apparently. Never lost a game there.
Ok, we played 1 game against Norf and won it. It still works. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

My point is that if our club wasn't so racist and we embraced indigenous talent more than just a token player or two, we'd have a premiership to win rate better than Hawthorn. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |
