The maths is really simple.

Expansion clubs stock piled talent + more academy talent at less than market value = an embarrassed AFL and several powerful pissed off Vic clubs.

I wouldnt be complaining, without this adjustment, we have no chance of a premiership anytime soon. Four of this years top ten picks are stock piled in the NSW academy. The other consideration is that Swans and the expansion clubs will be more inclined to trade if they want to make the winning bid on an academy player. By giving up more picks to gain the player, they will need to trade players out in order to remain in the draft after the first round.

Just cause people dont understand it, doesnt make it an unfair system.

FATHER-SON SELECTION DARCY MOORE

What happened: Collingwood forced to use their first-round selection (No.6) following Western Bulldogs' bid of No.5

What would happen in 2015: The Magpies must pay 1503 points, so give up pick six.

"Give up pick 6"? Isn't that what happened anyway?

I tried to read this defiantly, but feel bamboozled. Where's the Aspro?
