There is a beach near here that is very shallow and has no rips or waves, You can take babies and tow them in floating rings etc . A lot of Thais and Indians who can not swim go there .

They put a large plastic rope with floats on to make an area a few hundred square metres. Really struggling to get above hip height.

An Indian woman on her honeymoon and a few months laser a Thai were killed because dickheads on jetskis thought it would be fun to take a short cut through the swimming area and practice rope jumping.

Here I am trying to help people push their businesses forward in the worst shambles of an economy since god knows when. There are 50 dire news stories to one positive glimmer here in Brexit disaster land. The worst of everything is coming true, including pressure to lower standards to stay afloat, and more corrupt, incompetent privatisation than you can poke a stick at. I can't even express its true extent frankly because my work involves helping strategise a positive way through it, and people are already depressed and under huge financial distress. What is worse, the fruit cakes who created the mess have zero political opposition. It's a genuine helpless decline; at least the US had a clear alternative.

It's a horror show. Infinitely worse than anyone's saying.

My Dad passed away tonight at aged 90 in Hervey Bay hospital. My brother and I can not get home from overseas .

Was a Collingwood member,

Spoke to him about 3 hours before he died on video call but he could not speak.

Had his 90th a month ago and had a few around so at least his last blast was good.

My Dad started lollipop people years ago (for nothing) and did lots of charity stuff when he went to QLD.

RIP Bill and his favourite player was Bill Picken.

Thank you to those who offerred condolensces on my Dads passing. The funeral is Friday and in something new to me they are live streaming the service through the funeral home. It is a comfort to those who simply can not get there. I think it is a fabulous innovation

I thought Dad was channelling in the first quarter last week but not to be,

Mum is iok and with lots of visitors and making preparations but I guess after they all go home it might her.

We are afterall part of the Magpie family although Mum may not watch as much footy these days as Dad won;t be there wielding the remote.

My family thanks you for your thoughts.

Floreat Pica

Sone 13 years ago Dads poodle Pierre who was about 15 was in the vets. It was the day before the parents 50th wedding anniversary. The vet rang and said Pierre had lost the use of his back legs and would spend the rest of his remaining life pooing and pissing in his bed and would not be able to patrol the acre and 3/4s of "his " land and was going blind. So Dad said he is such a clean and exploring dog so put him out of his misery.

Dad went in to pick his ashes up and we put them under his favourite mango tree and the girl who worked as receptionist part time was a cadet photographer for the local paper and she bathed him and took the most amazing photos of him before the needle. Mum had them blown up and framed and they dot the house. I ma sure your photos will provide comfort to their families.

Pierre also was the victim of racial abuse. The area has a lot of coservationists/ex hippies etc. When the Rainbow Warrior was blown up people came into the Post Office and asked Dad how he could live with a French dog afrer whar they disd in NZ. Dad would point out that poodles were actually German, he was a 7th generation Australian and he doubted the dog could swim from Fraser Island to NZ and back on half a can of Pal.
