HF: Karnezis Cloke De Goey
F: Elliott Reid Witts
Foll: Grundy, Adams, Swan

Geez, people are quick to slot in the new kids over guys who've had some time on the list. Varcoe and Greenwood are understandable as they bring solid senior experience but De Goey, Maynard, Goodyear, Moore and our 2 new rookies are a stretch.
And that's with the caviat that I did say to Lazza that all 4 ND selections COULD potentially play round 1 in 2015. Even Freeman, Crisp, Marsh, and Karnezis would all be ahead of them at this stage of preseason.
Not sure I should be loving the optimism you seem to have with the quality of our draftees or concerned about how lowly you rate players already on our list. |

Yeah that does it for me as well, with the only possible exception that Maynard may not be ready and might have his spot taken by any of Seeds, Sinkers, Tooves or the Sack. Fas and Karnezis might be neck n neck for the forward pocket too. De Goey in the 22 is very likely. Not to mention Moore putting his hand up with a big pre season. That boy can't be underestimated. Nice bit of pace in that 22!! Too excited too early!!! _________________ I'm not the pheasant plucker I'm the pheasant plucker's son, and I'll be plucking pheasants til the pheasant plucker comes! I second that! Agree with both of your posts actually if things transpire the way I expect them to play out.
However, I want to see how things transpire in the pre-season before I make a more informed call of who will play against Brisbane in round 1 next year.
Far too early to select such a side! _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

A couple of notes.
People seem quick to relegate Tooves to the emergencies. You obviously haven't seen him this year! He's come back looking like the proverbial brick shitter, he's gonna tear it up in 2015!
Same goes for the Caff named as unavailable. I heard he's determined to get a gurnsey in Rd.1, and is bringing Shazza along with him. I expect to see both by round 5!
B: Manteit, Brown, Tooves
HB: Maynard, Langdon, Goodyear
C: Sidey, Greenwood, Crisp
HF: Abbot, Elliot, DeGoey
FF: Karnezis, Moore, Goldy
R: Grundy, Pendles, Swan
Int: Cox, Freeman, Adams, Marley
Emergencies from: Cloke, Frost, Keefe, Broomhead, Armstrong, Witts, Fas, White, Reid, Seedy, JT, Sincs, Marsh, Ramsay, Gault, Dwyer, Oxley, Blair, Young, Caff, Shazza.
Ok, I'm playing funny-buggers, but it's quite amazing how much depth we have, granted that it's very young depth, but frankly I don't see a weak or poor player. I admit I'm not sold on Dasher yet, and a few will certainly need to show something this year. The rookies we got today are two guys selected to fill definite roles, and Dekka seems to think we'll see both at some stage in 2015. Mentiet is a classy back with good skills who would free up Reid to play forward or Langdon/Marley to have a run in the middle, which both are definitely suited to, while Abbot is a bullocking, very quick forward who is excellent overhead and would be a great foil for Clokey.
The biggest thing for me is whether or not Buckley's overly conservative match committee will give the new blokes a run at some stage. We really only have true depth if the new kids have AFL experience. It's very sobering to consider that of the names above at least three will be dumped at the end of 2015.
What I'd really like to see is the AFL wake up to itself and increase AfL lists to 50, the way things are there's no room to develop players or for a player to have a bad year. As it is someone like Sinclair, Dwyer, Gault, Armstrong or Oxley is going to have their AFL dream shattered in a years time. _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

sinclair and blair are locks for the first round team. i would be very surprised if they weren't named. also, with a full list to choose from we don't need to be in a position to name a first year draftee. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |
