Good article about the vapid coverage of this assassination from Matt Taibbi:
https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/political-commentary/baghdadi-trump-washington-post-headline-fox-news-904945/
Quote: | When important events take place now, commercial news outlets instantly slice up the facts and commoditize them for consumption by their respective political demographics. We always had this process, to some degree, but it no longer takes days to sift into the op-ed pages.
Now news is packaged for Republicans or Democrats on the first reporting pass. Moreover, it’s no longer true that Fox is more blatant about its slant than the Democrat-friendly press, which in the Trump years has become a bullhorn of caricatured bellyaching in the same way Fox was in the Clinton years. |

Very good article, calling out news is no longer news, it's op ed tailored to the media outlets consumer base. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

London Bridge attack claimed by ISIS.
Now, if you wrote this for a movie script you'd get shot down, no pun intended.
Islamic fundamentalist convicted and jailed for a terrorist plot.
Paroled early, without facing a parole board, for agreeing to wear an electronic tag.
Attends a University of Cambridge conference aimed at showing how prisoners can be rehabilitated, as an invited guest. Supposedly an example of how well the program works.
Dons a (fake) suicide vest, gaffer tapes a knife to one hand and holds another, starts attacking people, killing 2.
Set upon by civilian bystanders, one armed with a 5 foot Narwhal tusk, another with a fire extinguisher (guess they couldn't find a shopping trolley or folding chair) and 2 tour guides, detained until Police get there and shoot him dead
"Dear sir, madam or other, your script has been rejected as just too far fetched, even by today's standards. We strongly suggest you reduce your intake of hallucinogenics when writing" _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Narwhals are endangered. The person who used that tusk must be punished severely. |

Reasonable point, but it's not like he leaped into the Thames at the first sign of trouble, physically tore the tusk from a confused narwhal (it would have been seriously bloody confused being in the Thames in the first place) then launched his defensive assault with a Pip Pip and Tally Ho.
He grabbed the tusk from the wall in the place he was in. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

So, if he was detained before police got there, why did they have to shoot him dead? _________________ kill for collingwood! |

Had a fake suicide vest on, probably threatened to detonate it or something. Pretty sad when a population is cowed and disarmed and inviting in people who want to kill them.

Yeah, from what I read the cops spotted the vest and told the civilians to GTF away. What happened between that and them shooting him I don't know but that's not a situation where you're going to offer him a cup of tea and ask how he's feeling. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Geebus, that's 250kg.
He must be eating 4-5 peoples worth of food to get and stay that fat.
Good news is he won't take too much guarding in prison, it's not like he's going to climb a wall or squeeze through bars and run away. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
