Great outcome. He's an average player. Dangerfield and Cameron next year, please.

Hawthorn and Geelong are after him.

Where did they finish this year? and the last 2-3 years where have they been?

The fact these 2 teams are after him tell me that he is worth pursuing.

A bit like the Dogs drafting Bontempelli because we were keen.. with our recent drafting record..

No. Different stages of development. They have senior players at the precipice and, in each case, defensive holes that may need plugging next season in order to load up for another top 4 finish. Eg, Lake at Hawthorn seems to be struggling, injury-wise. When their current crop of stars go (and Mitchell and Hodge haven't got too many more seasons in the tank), they will likely be out of premiership contention for some years, so it makes sense for them to go for the best available players, now, irrespective of the long-term consequences. Not so for us.

I'd be happy if we seriously looked at Daniel Merritt - hard, tough defender who will help our our young backline.

Only a few journos ever had us in the mix for Frawley but the majority never did.

He'll be a good pick up for Hawthorn or Geelong and would have been handy one for us with our young back line.

While the hawks and cats might have more aging stars than us, with free agency now available to them don't you think they'll be able to adequately replace most of them with the salary cap space that will be freed up?

I'm not as convinced as some that we'll see Geelong and Hawthorn tumble out of the eight anytime soon.

But no one has answered the question about how Geelong or Hawthorn can AFFORD Frawley.

Mainly because we don't give a fluck about Geelong or Hawthorn.

Frawley is not a genuine star and not worth anything near $800K. A good ordinary player at best and we are better biding our time and going for a really big fish not an over rated guppy. Might not be some one this year, but maybe next.

Agree. Rather spend less than half the money Frawley is asking for to retain the Sack. At least you know he loves the club and gives it everything every week.

And that is why they thrash us in the winning stakes!
Because we refuse to learn.

They thrash us because a few posters on a forum don't give a fluck about them.... yeah right!

Trolls getting in behind trolls.

I don't answer criticism that is just for the sake of criticism. And that is all the dog does. Been that way for years.

Didn't realise the dog had a bitch. Figures though

The equasion in my mind ( and i know i am far from a expert) but only elite players in the comp should be asking +700k a year. Frawley far from that class.
