All part of the service Peter - you weren't the only one.
A note of warning to others. This virus does not rely on you opening an attachment. It carries an embedded frame in the email body that takes advantage of a vulnerability in Internet Explorer and Outlook Express 5 and 5.5. If you use one of those browsers and email clients you should download and install the security patch from Microsoft - http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS01-020.asp - or upgrade to version 6.
The sender name can vary so there is no apparent indication of who the email came from and there is no way prior to viewing the email to identify it as dangerous. Just the act of viewing the email will contaminate a vulnerable computer.
If you are using Internet Explorer and Outlook Express 5 or 5.5, it is very important that you install the patch or upgrade your browser immediately.

Hey folks,I hear today that this W32.Badtrans.B@mm virus is going around the world at a rapid rate of knotts.
I have had to close down upgrade Norton Anti virus and also clean out my system.
I have it on good authority that if it does strike, not only upgrade to Outlook express6 via the microsoft.com,which will take around 2 hours, but also go to a site called http:/securityresponse.symantec.com/avcentre and follow the promts to kill the virus. Is does work.
Once you have done all this, give your computer a good maintainance clean out.
Hope this is of some use.
Catch you all later
