Shae gave an interview on Sen a few weeks ago
In it he said that he had wasted the last 3 years and was pi$$ed of at the way that Collingwood FC treated him in 2012 , and that he would write more about in his book.
This thread will infom more on the Shae Collingwood issue

I've read a few things from Shae.
One stated that he came over here and expected to make it big. superstar like.
the second read that he found training with Hawthorn a 'breath of fresh air'.
Over inflated American arrogance shining at its very best if you ask me. |

I have read some of his comments on facebook, and his training with the Hawks and such. But I wish him all the best in getting to the NBL, I might even tune in and watch the league if he was playing in there.
I hope to see him at Aurora Stadium against the Hobart Chargers when the SEABL season kicks off. _________________ Ðavâgé

He is probably the lager about the drugs _________________ Well the one I always think of is the Port Adelaide final in 2002. It was just one of the most disciplined team performances that I have ever witnessed - be it in football or any other team sport - NB |

What a load of rubbish.
"I wish I'd had the opportunity to at least fail or succeed and I never had that."
He got 3 more years of opportunities than most aspiring AFL footballers. |

Writing a book !! PMSL maybe my 3 yr old should write one.....she's achieved about as much.
Shae mate maybe its time you accepted that it had nothing to do with opportunity and more to do with just not being good enough.
Go ahead take a swipe but in that case, but don't let the door hit your giant head on the way out. _________________ No Pressure, No Diamonds

I think somebody nailed it in that bigfooty thread with the "big fish in a small pond" comment. I think Shae underestimated the size of the pond and overestimated the size of the fish. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Pretty spot on I reckon, Shae doesn't seem to be a bad guy, I guess I can understand his disappointment. I suppose this is like most players wanting to find someone else to blame for their dream ending up a nightmare.
But hey at least he's got a fallback plan, and I hope he succeeds. _________________ Ðavâgé

Oh dear. Did he really write that? What a tossbag! All he had to do to get a game was play better football. So he couldn't do that. Shrug. Life sucks when someone else it better at it than you are, but most of us get used to that starting in third grade and learn to live with it. All he had to do to retain the respect and good will of countless thousands of Collingwood supporters was just shut up and not say seriously stupid stuff like that quoted above. It seems that that was too hard too. Can you imagine Luke Ball saying something like that? James Hird? Roger Federer? Glen McGrath? Pfft!
A good delisting, obviously. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

I'm not seeing what the issue is. He didn't make it so he'll try his hand at basketball. Good on him. |

There seems to be a tradition that if you get cut by Collingwood, you spit the dummy. Maybe it has something to do with the goldfish bowl. I can't remember Leigh Brown or anyone else get upset because they were cut by North Melbourne. but Brian Taylor, Len Thompson, Phil Carman and the unfortunate Mr Macnamara all let the world know how they felt.
The test for Mr Macnamara is, did anyone else pick him up. Sadly no. Like many other hopefuls he must take the long trudge back to where he came from. It ain't easy, so spare a thought for him. Here's hoping for success, Shae. Best of luck. |

Shae had ample opportunity, much more than many and in the end he just was not good enough to make it, sad that he seems to feel he needs to blame others for his own failings. |
