Chelsea 0 - 0 Newcastle

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_prem/7727197.stm

Newcastle Manager, Joe Kinnear wrote:

"It was a magnificent performance and about the best we've played as a team. Shay Given pulled off some great saves but as a team it was as good as it gets.

"I don't think Chelsea created a clear-cut chance. Our commitment was magnificent. We've drawn at Manchester United and Chelsea. It's not bad is it?

"I'm delighted with the performance and we can go on from this."

Great result for us at Stamford bridge. Bring on Middlesborough next week.

great result, disappointed we couldnt take advantage of it at Villa.
I dont agree with Kinnear but. Chelsea could have had 6 goals easily if it wasnt for Given.

i disagree. Ballack's shot was offside by a mile, joe cole's goal was rightly offside too, given didn't have to make too many spectacular saves, he had that header from lampard but always had it covered. Can't think of too many others.

i can remember Ashley Cole almost scoring and Malouda had a great chance. Chelsea were better but couldnt score, credit to Newcastle.

yeah ill give you the ashley cole one. I think if it was on target though, given had it covered. He was in a great position.

There's no denying Chelsea were better. So they should be at Stamford bridge.

Newcastle did well to force them into the middle on most occasions and then were able to deny them space.

It was probably the best defensive display from the toon in a long time.

Man being a Geordie would be frustrating

3rd game of the season we went to Stamford Bridge and got a 1-1 draw after losing against Boro and Sunderland..... we then went on to get 1 point from our following 5 games.

Some teams are suited to played teams higher up the table.

yeah seems that way. We could only manage a draw at home V Wigan. we even conceded a goal to Titus Bramble of all players Sad

yeat another draw, that's 4 in a row.

Once again we got into what seemed a certain winning position only to play utterly pathetic in the second half and allow them back into it.

Cruelly conceding the equalizer to former magpie Faye.

Smelled very much of the Wigan game, which was also 2-2 and the equalizer conceded to a former Newcastle player.

Kinnear is a useless tactically, i just shook my head and predicted a draw or loss once he brought on Cacapa.

Now I am just hoping we avoid relegation so we can get rid of Kinnear in the summer, get a rich sheik owner and start on our path of world domination Smile
