^^. Yep, well said. Sums it up perfectly. Funnily enough, you never hear contract speculation about him going anywhere else. The quiet pulse of our club.

Phew 😅 Glad in actual fact he “re-signed” rather than “resigned” 😛

Would like to add my seal of approval to Pietillidie's tribute to Jamie Elliott. It is a perfect summation of Jamie Elliott. His courage on the field is awe-inspiring, and his mental toughness to persevere through a nightmare of injuries is testament to amazing strength of character. His dedication to structure and discipline now is providing immense leadership in our forward line. It is great to see how Jamie went over to give Ash Johnson a reasurring pat on the head, meaning "it's ok, no big deal" after he fluffed his banana kick on goal from the close in mark he took in the final quarter. He is clearly taking the young forwards under his wing.
I am rapt that he has signed up for 3 more years, making him a pie for life.

Great news!!!
So happy he re-signed. Another 3 years of this absolute legend in the black and white!!
Yes, Pietillidie's post sums it all up. Jamie deserves some good luck as he's gone through so many injured years an never given up.
This year he has shown what true resilience is, and what a year he is having.

Great recall. Now you say it I remember because I too was hoping Ash wouldn't take it to heart (even if he doesn't look the type to become easily flustered). But as you say, Jamie was right onto it.

I've not enough superlatives to describe his career to date. Just wrapped with the news of his re-signing.

I recently re-glued the signed but fraying no.5 to my 2015 ANZAC Day clash guernsey, which I proudly wore on my walk, in a bone chilling 9 degree Brisbane Winter this morning. It's the type of commitment I've made during the H&A season.

Must admit I do like to elicit a reaction from punters to our guernsey at this time of year. You sense they know a shift in the matrix has occured, particularly when we're wearing them overtly on non game days at the business end of the season.

'Billy' enters his 12th season in '23, and with it moves into veteran status as he enters his 31st year come August.

A near injury interrupted season over '22 gave us a reminder of his talent, reflective of his prodigious season in 2013 following his debut in 2011.
We're left speculating of what our forward line might have been if he, Moore & Reid remained injury free over those years.
His 28 goals/19 behinds was his best scoring output since 2017.
His 66 tackles was a career high, his 265 dispoals 2nd most since debut.

Given his wretched run with injury, he's unfortunately not a player we have been able to get our hopes up come the start of any season, nor the dynamic, high leaping forward we saw before he was cruelled by a succesion of injuries.
Still, to his credit, he's evolved his game where his offensive capabilities were on show early on in his career, to evolve into a defensive forward with few peers.

So, as we enter season '23, can he recapture last seasons form?
What do Nicksters expect, or is it simply hope that he remains injury free?

Let's hope we hear a bit of "Oh Billy!" deep into September.

If he remains injury free he is a star. No ifs, no buts, no maybes. Cool

Should be handled like a thoroughbred champion and be lightly raced. We want him on the park every week in August & September.
I'd be happy if he plays 12-15 games.

Defensive forward? I think not, he is one of the leagues best small forwards, just has a slightly different bag of tricks to a crumbing forward
