Despite an earlier report of him signing with the Gold Coast, Ablett is still undecided - as of today.
Herald-Sun: Ablett's manager, Liam Pickering, said it could be more than a week until his client made a decision.
Gold Coast CEO Travis Auld issued a statement last night saying the club would not be lured to comment on Ablett's possible future in Queensland.
"Official announcements will be made when, and if, arrangements are finalised," Auld said.
Ablett spent yesterday alone in Melbourne while about 20 of his teammates drowned their sorrows together drinking beers and watching a local grand final at Skilled Stadium.
It was unclear if Ablett joined his teammates later in the night, though his absence fuelled speculation he was on the outer at the club until he made a decision about where he would be playing football next year

he is going to GC. they would mention it now but because of the finals they are going to wait untill after finals.
the afl doesn't want to take the gloss of the grand final |

Really, if Ablett was staying at the Cats, he would've announced it during the week leading up to the Collingwood game. This would've given Geelong a massive boost going into our game. As he did not, this leads me to believe that he's going to the Gold Coast.

I would have written the exact thing mate. Just doesn't make any rational or logical sense him staying and not mentioning it either before the finals or before the game agaist Collingwood. He is GONE. |
