^ Phoenix did a good job, but Heath Ledger will always remain my favourite Joker.

Fair call, and the less said about Jared Leto the better, but this was a very different movie.

Ledger was in a Batman movie, as was Jack Nicholson, so they had the Batman character to play off and they jumped in as fully formed characters. This movie was all about Pheonix and his characters gradual descent into insanity.

The movie won't fit into the DC universe continuum as Joker is already late 30's early 40's and Bruce Wayne from this movie won't become Batman for at least another 10-15 years. Bloody good movie though.

Saw The Gentlemen last week, loved it. Turns out I'm a Guy Ritchie film fan. Can't wait to see it again for those "ohhhh, that explains that bit" moments (same as in Snatch).
Hugh Grant made the film IMHO, Colin Farrell also great & I've never been a fan of his. Charlie Hunnam - wow what a cutie!

Wow, what a powerful film: Mrs WPT & I just saw Almodovar's "Pain and Glory". Brilliant.

Antonio Banderas was simply wonderful. An emotionally evocative film. Searing performances.

Gees, Almodovar's a damn fine (and prolific) filmamker.

Up bush for the weekend, checked the FTA guide after the news and The Martian was on. Thought it might kill some time till dinner then I'd put on a DVD but I got sucked in and watched the whole thing.

I've seen it before and it's way not my usual type, but I just stayed. very good movie

Now for all the fans of Kubrick's The Shining [1980], might I suggest you have a look at sequel, Doctor Sleep? The Director's Cut at 180min, if you can.
This film is already well on it's way to cult status....

Legend of Tarzan, 2016 version.

I liked it

As a 4 year old I wanted to be Tarzan, by 7 it was superman but you never forget your first love.

hubby worked over the weekend (semi retired he said, yeah right) so junior and i went down the coast, got there just after lunch saturday, it was raining, watched Jurassic park 1, took the dogs for a walk, watched 2, ordered Thai delivery, watched 3 & 4, and i caught the end of the best christmas movie ever (that is of course Die hard) and watched 5 while i ate juniors pancakes for breaky! Yes, they can be a little cheesy, but there is cuties for everyone, especially Blue!! man i have not felt this relaxed and not tired in so long!! you gotta love a good old movie marathon!
