Some people writing such rubbish on that HS comments page are deadset wankers. Wouldn't know class if it bit them on the foot.

An important announcement. Good grief. Sad

Quote:
The loss of James Clement and now Buckley leaves the Magpies with probably four choices.

Will it be veteran Scott Burns, who has been an outstanding on-field leader for many years, the talented but accident-prone Ben Johnson, or a youngster, one of Heath Shaw or Nick Maxwell?

Burns turns 33 in December, yet might be the most appropriate leader for 2008, given the club's youth.

Buckley, 35, retires after a career that earned him the mantle of Collingwood's greatest player of the past 50 years.

Quote:
He hinted at a grand final eve luncheon last Friday he was coming to terms with retirement.

He revealed a discussion with his friend and manager Craig Kelly, a Collingwood premiership player.

He told Kelly he wanted to play on, to which Kelly, 41, replied: "So do I." It struck a chord with the man who managed just five of a possible 25 games this year because of recurring hamstring trouble.

Very sad day for CFC....one of the greatest players ever to pull on the collingwood jumper.

A true legend of the modern game....

He will never be forgotten....
