Well we all thought that this may happen but SHIT what a bummer to realize it is happening.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am devastated that we will lose such a great prescence on and off the field as a player.

Lets hope that he does his studies quickly ( as Ed has suggested) and is back in coaching mode really soon.

He can't go now, he'll hold the cup aloft next year.

Sh#t Bucks, you can have my hammie, bugger it...have 'em both.
Mine are in great working order having been idol all their lives.

Don't do it. Not yet.

What a shame he'll never hold up that elusive premiership cup. I love you BUCKS

He'd have a pre-season to get back to his best, bucks is it too late to change your mind???

As i said, you are basing your career on a cuople of big games at the end of the year with no match practice. A full pre-season would make the wealth of difference. Look at Ben Cousins, his hammies did not hold up either. Its tough to miss a year of footy.

Even Alan Didak struggled this year after he injured his knee. It takes a while to get back to your best. I know you have 1 year at best, but a pre-season of conditioning and strengthing of those hammies will be great for ya.

We can still use you. You were still better than half the players out there. You probably wouldve got the norm smith if you played the power.

I know you say you want to go out on at the top...but this isnt the top. Do a James Hird. He had a whole year goodbye, and won the best and fairest. He has had more injuries than you in your career.

We are so close to a premiership and both you and clement are going to bail. You have been the best things in the last decade when it has been agonising to be a collingwood supporter at times. You cant leave now.

In relation to him announcing his retirement tomorrow night, as the rumous state. You have to also think that the club didn't offer him another contract. Especially if he tweaked that hammy in the prelim as rumours also state.

If he wasn't offered a contract, we'll never know. He will just announce his retirement.

I wont be completely shattered if he retires, it is going to happen sooner rather than later, but I will be entirely shattered and peeved if he goes elsewhere in a coaching role/assistant somewhere straight up. That will break my heart....

He needs to retire, he wasted a whole year of his life and its time to move on. Clearly the hammies are not up to it anymore. Time to start getting some coaching experience...

Farewell the best player I have seen play the game.

Bucks deserves a farewell year like james hird and glenn archer have received. Even if he plays only 10 or so games next season and regularly gets rested he will be so valuable to our team in a pocket. Also we got a big go at a premiership.

getting one as a coach is just not the same.
Are you for real? If Bucks was a coach, it would be the proudest day of his life watching his boys win a premiership.

Try telling that to all the premiership coaches that literally put in more hours than the players, if its not the same.
I'm not saying he wouldn't be proud, and given (if he retires now) he won't be playing in a premiership, I'm sure it would be the proudest day of his FOOTBALL life. My opinion stands..........it's not the same.........and yes I am 'for real'. Not sure why you talking about 'premiership coaches' and the hours they put in as if I disregard that. It's nothing to do with that....facts are the facts - it's not the same! That opinion is not that radical.
