That’s good to hear,I’m trying to shop at the smaller stores, just to keep them in business too. Got some really amazing roll things from ..I have no idea what nationality they are, but they were so good!

So I feel a bit yuk today, did a heap of washing, cooked leak and cauliflower soup for lunch, lots of lunches actually! Did a shitload of paperwork sat in the sauna for half an hour, andwent ugh, can’t be bothered, serious have to cook all fricken day it feels like! And in walks the eldest she just finished ‘work from home’ and says what are you thinking for dinner, I’ll cook! Kid whatever you want!

Tomorrow the little girl I took cake smash photos of turns 1, so finally I can post her pics, they are sooo damn gorgeous! I can’t wait!

Walking the dogs in the sunshine today, saying hi to everyone, even if they don’t answer! Life is good, small bits of happy in the fear!

What’s Yours?

My horse is running! Gold Coast race1.

He's been backed in from 80's to 8's.

Confused There's races in every state today TP.

I don't know why you think it should be cancelled? They are following very strict protocols in the racing industry.

From the RWWA site...

Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) advises that the segregation of jockeys will commence from this Saturday, 28 March.

RWWA has identified a group of jockeys referred to as the ‘Blue Team’, who have volunteered to ride at only metropolitan and inner provincial race meetings, and will be segregated from all other jockeys at racecourses.

The following restrictions apply for those jockeys who are part of the ‘Blue Team’, if a rider is identified as being in breach of these conditions it will be necessary to remove them from this group:

Only allowed to ride at Ascot Racecourse and Pinjarra Park, and therefore will not be permitted to ride at Albany, Bunbury, Geraldton and Kalgoorlie.
Must not interact with any jockeys outside of the blue team, including both on-course and off-course.
Not permitted to ride any track work at racecourses, training centres and private facilities.

https://www.rwwa.com.au/blog/jockey-segregation-update-27-march-2020/

And the main media section...

https://www.rwwa.com.au/media-centre/wa-racing-update/

Everything that continues to function safely, must do so. As long as the procedures are adhered to, I can't see an issue with this.

The biggest problem I see for the spread, is shopping centres and Bunnings. Why they don't restrict numbers entering these places in mind boggling.

Bunnings has been nuts but is now actively advertising home delivery service.

There will be no stores to visit in shopping centres.
Myer announced yesterday they were closing stores.

People were visiting Chadstone during the week because they were bored.
I like shopping but even I haven’t gone there in the past 2 weeks.

Well, supermarkets are probably extraordinarily dangerous places but not everyone can grow their own food supply. Or make toilet paper from sticks.

I did a near $200 shop yesterday at Highett Woolworths; found a lot of stuff I hadn’t been able to get elsewhere and stocked up on food for the week ahead, so felt pretty good about that. The downside was internally freaking out every minute I was there about how many other people I was in close proximity with (and the shop assistant said this was a relatively quiet day!!!) Didn’t feel right, I’ll tell you that much.

They just have to restrict numbers, simple.

Maybe use alphabetical order of surnames for different days/time periods?
I don't know. But it seems pretty pointless taking the seperation precautions, unless it's enforced in ALL locations.

I was aghast to see that racing was still going on but (as mentioned by Skids above) the protocols are pretty good, and when you think about it harder, for animal welfare reasons the industry cannot simply stop completely. On balance, and given the very thorough rules, I'm OK with racing.

What I'm not OK with is this hairdressing insanity. Seriously, this kind of crap has gone on for long enough. The Prime Minister should resign and give the job to someone who cares about Australian lives. Ideally, this would be someone who has a clue.

Dan Andrews, for example. Or if you insist on a Liberal, Gladys Berejiklian from NSW. Or Peter Gutwein (who is overseeing by far the most successful anti-Covid-19 program in the country). Or Mark McGowan. Or Anthony Albanese, who hasn't put a foot wrong. Or Steven Marshal, who is doing OK so far. I don't care who it is, so long as we get rid of this useless tit.

I thought of the old nightclub days where you let X amount in, rest wait outside, one comes out let one in etc. Of course the queue outside would have to be spaced.

The face shields I ordered a few weeks ago arrived. Very Happy

These aren't surgical, they're a combo head band, face shield, mask.

https://safishing.com/product-category/face-shield/

Got 5 for $15. Opened the parcel, each one individually wrapped so opened everything, straight into the washing machine, wrapping to bin and hands sanitised.

Facebook cops a bit but can be a very useful platform when used well.

I follow the Berrigan Shire council on it, they're quite active with putting out information. Just before I noticed they'd shared a post that Murrumbidgee Health district was holding a live conference at 11am to discuss the Covid 19 response, so I connected and watched some of the live stream.

Pretty good stuff, I especially liked the use of Tech in creating virtual hospitals and monitoring some patients remotely while they stay home.
