Eddie just spoke to Dr.Turf and Dean Jones on Sports Today, 3AW. Speaking about a range of topics, the main points were:
-Mick coaches best when he has the safety blanket of a contract
-Contract was always going to occur for 2007 - at the end of the year the club was looking at aranging Arizona, recruiting.
-Malthouse is the sort of person who would walk himself and not wait for a verdict from the club
-Positive about next year
-TV rights will be excellent
-Coverage Australian wide will be the best its ever been
-Will ensure the future for the Kangaroos, Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs until at least 2011.
-Hopes that the new deal will help set up those clubs with better training facillities
-The league will pour the dollars into grassroots footy. |

Thanks for the information, J#26.
If we had a real bad year next year, Does it mean Mick will automatically walk without being told? |

Just remembered one more thing...
Mentioned something about Rupe and Carl Stienfort and getting rid of them was tough/had to happen...don't really recall it that well... |

I always felt that Carl was hard done by. He was the Mick Gayfer of the new millenium - had few tricks other than his defensive ability in the midfield, but he was damn good at it.
Also had the uncanny ability to be absolutely hammered in tackles more than anybody else in the side. |

Mick's mentioned that before on Fox Footy's "On the Couch". I presume it would be hard getting rid of anyone, Let alone one of the most popular blokes to ever put on a Collingwood guernsey - Rupe. |
