As far as the stats go:

Sanath Jayasuriya has the most with 181
Shahid Afridi - 161
Saurav Ganguly - 150
Sachin Tendulkar - 136
Viv Richards - 126
Wasim Akram - 121
Chris Cairns - 114

But perhaps it's better to look at the % of sixes per games played.

Players who have played 100 matches or more.

Afridi has the best rate with .94
then comes Richards - .75
Cairns - .74
Ganguly - .66
Greenidge - .63
Jayasuriya - .60
Klusener - .58
Gilchrist - .45
Ponting - .44
Gibbs - .43
Lara - .42

Ricardo Powell has .95 and Flintoff has .84 but they've played less than 80 matches.

Maybe he doesn't rate on the stats but Punter's efforts hitting 6 sixes before hitting a four last night was pretty impressive. Mind you, I wouldn't mind playing on that small ground. At least two of Punter's sixes didn't come off the middle and Gillies six could have been hit better as well.

Is this judged on how many have been hit? Or who has the best shots when hitting a six?

I would say it's a tie with Cairns and Gilchrist.

Three innings stand out for mine when we're talking six hitting.

Afridi's first ODI innings. Bevan's 180 odd in a special match and Ponting's amazing 140 n.o. in the WC final.

Oh, the Punter's innings the other night was up there too.

I'll put the figures in later.
