How is Scotland getting to carlton is what I want to know? Are we getting anything in return or are we getting dicked via the pre-season draft?

Yh i dont think carlton can offer us much, remember there draft penalties have stripped them of round 1 & 2 draft picks. And tell me the pies are going to except a 3rd rounder off them! Scoots is much better quality than a third rounder.

Someone mentioned Simon Beaumont in a previous post. I'd take him + 3rd rd pick for Scoots.

Or maybe we could be a part of the McKernan deal i just heard about where kangaroos were sending David Teague + 3rd rd pick to Carlton we get Teague + 3rd rd pick, Carlton get Scoots.

I heard it all season.
I heard it on the news.
I can't believe they are gonna get rid of Scotland. Mark my words this kid is gonna be a champion, and then we can all say there's one that got away.

i'm with u there AGE. if scotland gets more game time he will be a very good player. wouldn't trade him for n e one in carlton. n e way we cant lose him through pre season draft cause he is still contracted

This kid has very BIG shoes to fill in the years to come (you know who I am talking about) so I don't see why they don't keep him as a "bit-player" for the next season or 2, until he really shines in The Great One's absence. In the last 2 months of the season Scotland held his own in the team to gain regular selection. Give the kid a go.

I heard somewhere that was unable to be done.... I don't think you can trade with one club then trade what you got off that club onto another.. (if that makes sense)

sure you can scott - it's called on-trading, and it happens all the time.

for example, essendon give caracella to brissy, brissy give headland to freo, freo give mcveigh to essendon (draft picks omitted obviously) - quite ligit

- Ben

You are actually both correct. This has been argued in the Trade Rules post.

You are right in the fact that you cant pass on what you have traded.

You are right in that teams actually do. They don't actually pass on what they have recieved though. It's correct that your not allowed to recieve them then pass them on.

The way clubs do this is a three way deal, where for example: The Bulldogs give pick 4 to port and we give Rupe to port, then Port give Stevens to us and we give McKee and Scotland to Bulldogs.

Players cannot be on-traded! Draft Picks can! There was one selection last year or the year before that was traded to 4 different states and something like 8 or 9 teams before the final club ended up with it.

I'd trade him for Teague, if I could, rather then a draft pick.

Thats what I thought.... Once you have traded and got a player you can't then trade that same player onto another club

To the Roos for pick 24 which will be used in the deal to secure Stevens. Stevens has told Port to do the deal with Collingwood or he goes into the draft. carlton are belived to have offered him Vice Captaincy as well as 2 million. Their getting desperate.
