Can anybody remember the actual line-up of that Australia-A squad? As it would be interseting to see exactly how many players stepped up to and/or cemented a place in the Aussie 1st XI since it's inception. |
Good question Dyso, glad you asked! Here's your answer!

Long winded short-cut that. |

Very sarky Dyso, why not go sit down somewhere quiet and think more pleasant thoughts, even about blonde ladies in netball skirts if that takes yr fancy.
That was indeed the original squad. During the course of the series, Hayden at least fell out of favour and Greg Blewett and Michael Bevan had big games in the later matches. It appears that Rowell and Robertson were the only players not to play Tests.
Sorry Dyso but couldn't resist the snappy retort to yr smart arse opening. _________________ he's an animal, what can u expect!!! |

CW, I noticed in a previous response to this, you mentioned both Blewitt and Bevan. Are you sure they were added to the squad for that 1994/1995 series? I thought Blewy definately made his test debut that summer, can't remember about the ODI's. And wasn't Bevo already entrenched in the first XI by then? Hayden was certainly in and out of the team for a while wasn't he? Just goes to show what happens when you are psychologicly on your game.
Was Robertson ever taken on tour though? Rowell can consider himself very unlucky.

Robertson did go on at least one tour to the sub-continent. He may have played a few ODI. Rowell was indeed very unlucky.
Bevo was not in the senior side at the time and was included in the later games incl the finals. Blewett DID make his test debut in the final tests of that series (century in each of 2 matches) much as a result of him carting the Poms to all points of the compass in the later Aust A matches. _________________ he's an animal, what can u expect!!! |
