^^Ok. Your team wins so far, even though you don't have Sinclair (should be considered as a defender rather than a forward, but can't argue with having Langdon ahead of him, the kid deserves his spot) and Lumumba needs to play on a wing.

One change: I think Young did enough on Anzac Day to suggest he's ahead of Seedsman at this stage. Young's current form is better than Seed's last season form. My hope and expectation is that Seedsman will take the next step this season when he does finally get back on the park. At that point, Seedsman and Young should both be in the team, as in my picks, though so should Maxy and Caf Wink.

Yep good breakdown David and good prudent selections. Young would be my only change too. Country mile ahead of seedsman IMO.

Almost impossible to say with confidence, which is great. We had possibly only one first choice defender playing on Friday and still looked good down back. So do all of those out automatically deserve to be in?

But assuming all fit and firing, and disregarding Scharenberg and Freeman for the moment, I'd go with:

B: Toovey Brown Williams
HB: Langdon Frost Seedsman
C: Young Pendlebury Lumumba
HF: Elliott Reid Fasolo
F: White Cloke Goldsack
R: Grundy Beams Swan
I: Sidebottom, Ball, Sinclair
Sub: Blair

This is a very safe lineup, and is how I see it when projecting current form forward (and previous form for those currently injured). I'd actually hope that it changes in the interim with some younger players demanding selection and Adams finding his feet as a Collingwood player.

And I did have Blair in until I realised that there was no Beams Very Happy. Made him the sub even though we should have a more impactful player in that position.

No Macaffer...

OMG... neither Keeffe or Brown in KPD... Could understand that if you had Witts in the side which would allow Reid to go back if needed.

I'm not even going to try and project that far into the future, struggle to pick what changes we should have for our next game and the form of some of the peripheral players continues to astound. Langdon and Frost for example. Comfortable in the knowledge that there'll be a few more surprises over the coming rounds. Broomhead next to debut me thinks.

Based on HS Hawks best 22

B: Ben Stratton, Brian Lake 31, Shaun Burgoyne

HB: Matthew Suckling, Josh Gibson , Grant Birchall

C: Isaac Smith , Sam Mitchell , Brandon Hill

HF: Luke Breust , Jarryd Roughead , Cyril Rioli

F: Paul Puopolo , Jack Gunston , David Hale

FOLL: Ben McEvoy , Jordan Lewis , Luke Hodge

I/C: Liam Shiels , Brendan Whitecross , Ryan Schoenmakers , Brad Sewell

My Pies side to line up (tit for tat as selected) would be...

B; Williams, Maxwell, Keefe
HB; Toovey, Frost, Sinclair
C; Lumumba Macaffer Sidebottom
HF; Swan, Reid, Goldsack
F; White, Cloke, Elliott
R; Grundy, Pendlebury, Ball

Int: Blair, N. Brown, Langdon, Fasolo (sub)

Emerg; Young, Thomas, Witts, Freeman

I can't go past Sinkers for Rioli
Goldi to shut down Birchall
Caff to negate Mitchell
Burgoyne & Gibson having their respective hands full with Elliott & Reid
Not to mention Ball going head to head with Hodge and Pendles running riot on that mongrel Lewis.
Nathan Brown on Roughie, Maxy getting Gunston, Marley taking out Poo-o- polo and Toooooves wearing Bruest like a glove.
Lumumba on Smith and Sidey outsmarting Hill
White causing Stratton stress, Keefe wearing Hale like a glove and Grundy just smashing McEvoy all over the park.

We can beat em one on one, but mostly as a manic unit!!

Personally, i wouldn't put Toovey in the automatic selections anymore.
Prior to doing his knee, he was our run with player. Now that McCaffer has taken that spot, Toovey has to find a spot against all our other half bank flankers.

Perhaps it'd be easier to name the absolute certainties first. These are the players who are named every week if fit and available.

Defenders:

Toovey
Frost
Maxwell
Lumumba
Williams
Brown

Brown has been fit and available for the last two weeks but hasn't been picked so I would say you need to think again.

i don't think we'd need brown or keefe. got frost, maxwell, sack to cover them. williams, toovey and sinclair for the smaller guys.

Certainly not an easy exercise. Hard to know if Frost can handle Roughead, or whether we need to bring in Brown. Also can't decide whether Reid should play forward or back.
