Witts and Grundy are both competitive when going for the hitouts but are a fourth midfielder when the ball hits the deck and it's a contest to get it or stop the opposition getting away with it. Witts laid ten tackles against the bomas alone. Jolly can't come near these two for the second, third fourth efforts and more around the stoppages. Another correct call to move on. DJ did a good job for us but these two young boys are our rucking future. _________________ woodsmen rule |

Spot On - Even in the VFL he was getting beaten easily.
Witts and especially Grundy’s Repeat Efforts are Fantastic for Ruckman _________________ I am Da Man |

This.
I'm rapt with the way they are developing. They're both raw but they're already ultra competitive and aggressive which for young blokes finding their feet is terrific.
Grundy is showing heaps and has a presence already and Witts is a giant who will develop at a different pace to Brodie but the signs are already very positive.
Let them develop, allow for the inevitable mistakes and we'll have a genuine elite ruck combination for years to come, something I don't think we've had for bloody ever. |

Since Len Thompson and Jerka Jenkin. Monkey and Manson were good too. But Thommo was the best. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Monkey was great and Charlie was handy but I wouldn't confuse them as a combination in quality with Cox and Nit Nat although they did get us a flag something that Cox and Natinui haven't managed yet.
Thommo was one of the best big men ever and Jerker must've been good too so I'll definitely pay that (my memory doesn't go back that far) but two top shelf ruckman playing in the same side at one time is pretty scarce for Collingwood at least in recent history.
That's why I'm so excited by these two. |

Len Thompson and Peter Moore made a pretty handy ruck combo. |
