tackles, spoils, competes 100%, total team player, always talked about as not in our best 22

Seems to be growing into an on field leader

Goldsacks game last night was sensational. The possessions don't tell the whole story. His intensity was huge. Great tackling. Go the sack!

Nah, Goldy's best spot is still up forward when we have a full defense to choose from, but his versatility and tackling pressure keeps him in the side for as long as he holds this form up.

He had to improve on last year and he has.

I too was thinking Goldy hadn't really delivered on his true potential. But he's in career best form and to me he is yet another who is benefitting from the new culture and some faith being shown in him by the coach. Tackling should be his no.1 KPI and ATM he's delivering in spades.

The way Maxy has been playing this year, Maxwell is the new Maxwell.

I thought Goldsack was the new Maxwell back in 2007. Always been a huge fan of his defensive efforts.

He's like a human wrecking ball.

I love players like Goldy, no-fuss. He gives everything and is underrated by everyone else.

Until they get Sacked.

He accelerates mid tackle to sack the quarterback. Bam!

Always liked him, but has struggled to do enough consistently. So far this year he's going very well with his defensive work. He could still give a bit more offensively, which he has in the past - back when he was in career best form, hasn't quite reached that level yet.

I was a real fan of Goldy back in 2007. He reminded me of a young Crosisca. Then he seemed to stagnate and I went off him until about 2012. I think he was swung forward purely out of necessity when we had a pile of injuries, but he's made it work. He's the very rare player who actually seems to be a better forward than defender. Then again, he plays forward like a defender so maybe it's not that surprising.

No. Goldsack is what he always has been. A very good Goldsack. Nothing's changed, it's only injury that has stopped him from stringing regular, consistent games together. Mr. Fixit in every sense of the word

Agree fully, still improvement in him. Historically, whenever he's started to produce this sort of form he cops an injury. Be nice to see him get through a full year without missing games as he generally takes a few weeks to build his output.
