Charlie Curnow is playing VFL. We're lucky to miss him.
Collingwood now narrow favourites: 1.85. |
Cripps is in a moon boot. Been carrying a bad foot for a while. |

Apparently Carlton fans now believe Sam Walsh is their best player, over and above Cripps.
They are also predicting that MacKay will dominate Roughie and kick 4 or 5 goals.
With Cripps out, I think such a scenario will be far less likely. Tay Adams is hyped up now, and Callum Brown wants to prove that he is an AFL player. Last week will give him alot of confidence.
The other factor is Grundy. Grundy really needs to earn his money on Sunday. Our ability to gain ascendancy in the midfield (or not) will be the decisive factor.
Maynard will assist Roughie in dealing with Mackay. The main issue is to suppress Carlton in the midfield, which we have the opportunity to do, if we seize it.
I am thinking, and hoping, that we have the frame of mind, as well as the ability, to win this game. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

More worried about Betts and Martin going nuts and kicking a bag each. _________________ Buon Giorno |

Yeah, true, that is a worry, given our historic vulnerability to small, lightning fast forwards. IQ needs to be highly alert, and John Noble needs to be on top of his game as well. Above all, we need to stop the ball coming into their F50 fast and frequently, so the midfield battle is huge. While the absence of Cripps in no way makes me foolishly overconfident, I think it definitely gives us a favourable starting point for this game. _________________ Free Julian Assange!!

I feel our midfield has taken steps toward being better especially since Tay got back in
And the part Jack Crisp as a mid cohort further improvement
Further to that over the past few weeks I also feel Grundy has been better at giving us (instead of opposition) more first chances at the ball to our mids
Continue the process that’s been an improvement will play a big part on Sunday _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

The inclusions of both Adams and Elliott have helped the team improve since the poor first half of the year.
Hope we can maintain the same intensity we brought last week. Big chance to extend our lead in the H2H record against Carlton. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

We had a fantastic side that season, stars galore, i was a young teenager then. The ground was packed to the rafters, sardines, and i was at the old scoreboard end. The Magpies went nuts, we literally kicked their arse, i think it was 13 goals too 2. They onlly got 2 goals whole game. Peter Mckenna was on fire, he needed 6 goals for his ton, and he got em too. When he kicked his 100th, the crowd went nuts, invaded the ground, id say 30 000 on the ground. was amazing, the game was stopped for about 20 minutes. I ran past Blues tough guy, Wes Lofts, and told him to suck shit Lofts, then ran for me life. ! Great day, a really fond memory, and sitll remains my all time best win over the arch enemy. ! |
My favourite is the 108 point win in 2002, which was also Buckley's 200th game.
Perfect revenge for when they smashed us by 100 at Princes Park two years earlier. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023
