Grundy is a legend, but I do find it frustrating how rarely we get advantage from his tapwork. There must be a way to improve that via ruck and mid coaching.
The other thing that jumps out at you from those statistics is that Treloar is having a decent season, despite the knockers! _________________ I would be ashamed to admit that I had risen from the ranks. When I rise it will be with the ranks... - Eugene Debs |

^ Agree, Sherrife.
Grundy is the best ruckman in the league, but our inability to maximize our advantage in the centre clearances is frustrating. I think the lack of inside mids with Adams being injured hasn't helped.
Treloar's numbers are very good, but the ongoing criticism toward him is regarding his ability to hit targets. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Stats against Gold Coast: 43 hitouts, 26 disposals (15 kicks, 11 handballs), 6 marks, 8 clearances, 5 tackles, 1 goal.
He is now up to 787 hitouts from 19 games. |

^ depends.
If you mean who wins as a pure ruckman, then Gawn is probably better as a ruckman.
But......Grundy has him easily covered with regard to goal kicking / kicking in general, ability to cover the ground, running, ability below the knees and versatility.
I wouldn't be unhappy with either as our ruckman. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

Halftime in the battle of Grundy v the latest also-ran. He has 22 hitouts to 16, 4 tackles to 2, 1 mark to 0, 7 disposals to 5 and 5 contested possessions to 3. |

Full time against the Melbourne opponent.
He had 44 hitouts to 29, 7 clearances to 4, 7 tackles to 3, 2 mark to 1, 16 disposals to 13 and 11 contested possessions to 8.
Grundy won both halves, comfortably.
The one statistic he lost against Gawn was the free count - 5 to 1. |

Brodie just topped 900 hit outs in a home and away season for the first time. He sits on 902. By comparison, he had 843 at the same stage last year. |

I don't think best is the right word. Pendlebury is the best for sheer skill. But Grundy is easily our most valuable player. |

I'd love to see him walk away with a Brownlow this year. |

Grundy is fast becoming the greatest player, perhaps ever, not just for Collingwood, but for the whole competition. I've never seen a ruckman dominate all aspects of games - possessions, hitouts, marks, clearances, tackles - the way he does so consistently. Last night's display was the most dominant ruck performance I've ever seen. |
