He must still be in contention for round 1.

Yeah - He is a Chance at RD 1

I'm still not convinced we'll see either Freeman or De Goey in the first couple of H&A games. Not a bad thing to let the find some touch, consistency and confidence at VFL level before they debut.

Who be ahead of them for RD1?

jdg might get a bench spot. i doubt freeman will play afl in round 1.

if you look at the probable make up of the team there is no room for freeman or jdg as starting players.

I say 1 might be the Sub in RD 1

agree that De Goey and Freeman might be asked to play the Ben Kennedy role this year. Good way to introduce them (but I would give them a full game and then have them sub a couple of weeks and then switch it up.

PS: I love Ben Kennedy. As tough as nails and will be a good player for us this year.

After an impressive VFL practice match performance on Saturday he'll definitely play against the Bulldogs this week for our final practice match.

From what we can gather from this final practice match, I think that would be a fair assessment of whether he's a contender to play round 1 or not against Brisbane.

You may care to watch again E. Not as effective as in NAB1 but
- kicked one goal
- hit Gault from 40 with a nice pass one minute earlier
- was involved in the goal which Travis kicked in Q2

I reckon he was inolved in almost every goal we kicked from late in the first to half time.

I hear you Albert, but bear in mind the goal he kicked was his Clinton young moment. Dropped a sitter and then rushed the kick when no one was around him. He was just lucky the opponent was Carlton or that would have been an epic fail.

Your other highlights were all good. I guess what I'm saying is that he was simply serviceable in the way Freeman was last week (which some people criticized). I was more making the point that Freeman is doing fine even if he doesn't take our breath away (as others were hoping for).
