And yet, Galatians 2:16:
Quote: | Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. |

The New Testament is pretty clear on how Christians should behave towards criminals. I'm not a Christian, but I mostly share those views.
As for refugees, I'm afraid we're a nation of goats. Luckily for us, hell isn't real. |

Lol.
Seriously, though, one of the things I find most profound about the gospels is that Jesus immerses himself in the company of society's most despised outcasts (prostitutes, tax collectors and sinners of all varieties). Today, he'd be hanging around with Jihadis, drug addicts and paedos, and commanding his followers to do the same. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" is a powerful statement. Unfortunately, most Christians ignore these teachings in practice and most secular people think treating others with judgement, contempt or just apathy is completely justified. Those Christians outside the Perth courtroom are a rare breed nowadays. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |
