I'd say there was more money in paid channels on Cable Television and on PPVs (I've heard that there are some porn movies PPV in the states, at least in hotels...never been there so I cannot attest to the accuracy.)

I have noticed that the local video store has a whole section "Adult Movies" I haven't seen many make their way out of the building as yet.

The local video store can only rent R rated, which is why they hardly move. According to the law, X rated movies can only be legally sold in the ACT and Northern Territory although if you go into any sex shop, you will find X rated stuff there.

I for one wouldn't want X rated stuff on FTA because that makes it too accessable to minors. You can put a parental lock on Foxtel and run software on the PC to keep kids away from porn, you can even lock your personal porn collection away in the wardrobe but you can't lock FTA TV.

Actually, you will be able to lock FTA soon.

TiVo is being released at the end of the year, and as of probably the beginning of next year, every house hold will require a digital transmitter receiver, meaning, you're all going to need SD or HD set top boxes. The TiVo software is very similar to Fox/Austar, where you can put pin protection on.

The only channel thus far, you will not be able to control is Channel 7, because they're a bunch of wankers.

May I also clarify, to those who may not know, R rated porn does not show close ups of the male and female anatomy (except for breasts). You don't see any penetration whatsoever.

You can't even buy X rated videos at Sexpo!

penetration etc.

I ask this, because the majority here seem to think that stuff like this show shouldn't be censored... which I also kind of agree with. However, I'm wondering where you draw the line?

I draw the line of someone physically penetrating someone on FTA tv by having the whole thing being shown ie: full view of private areas etc. I don't believe it should be entirely censored from the public however. If someone is imitating penetration (like what you see in Box Office movies such as the sex scene in Underworld Revolution for instance), I have no issue whatsoever.

Hardcore porn where you hear chicks yelling out "F*** me harder" etc etc, shouldn't be aired on FTA. Parents who wish to shield their kids from this type of programming should be allowed to. Imagine if it was on at 1am in the morning, you were in bed, but your 4 year old got up out of bed, put the tv on and sat there watching some chick getting it up the butt. My parents used to let me watch stuff like horror movies, Rambo, Predator, Terminator, and even some M rated movies with tasteful sex scenes before I was even 10. I had no idea half of the time what was even really going on, and I didn't really ask questions, because I never really had the guts to.

I'm all for sex, and I hate censorship, but this is where you draw the line. Give kids a healthy upbringing, and teach them about sex at the right age.

I saw my first lot of porn when I was about 10. I went into the bathroom to use the toilet, and dad accidently left his Penthouse magazine in there. Nothing really shocked me, more so I was intrigued, but it didn't turn me into a bad person. I lost my virginity when I was 16 and I'm a huge believer in having protected sex. I've heard parents say that they want to shield their SIXTEEN year old children from seeing any form of pornography because they don't want them to be overly promiscuous, or be a sl*t.

More than anything, I find porn magazines and some porn films to be more educational, than some idiot teacher in high school showing me how to put a condom on a banana. I learnt about sex through movies and magazines, not through school - our teachers were useless.

Porn never gave me a dirty mind. It never ruined my life. I think it's hilarious when you see Christian and Family groups saying that porn and sex will ruin peoples lives, young or old. So tell me mums and dads, how did you conceive little Billy? When did you lose your virginity? Have you only ever had sex with the one person?

I'm getting off topic, I know, but I love this subject.

I find it odd that there are parents who don't want their chidren exposed to sex and nudity, yet don't blink an eyelid when little Johnny is running around with a toy machine gun blowing up everything in his sight. Strange that

franki, the real oddity is that these same GB parents who don't want to see sex and nudity on tv don't have a problem when a priest does the same thing to their precious little Billy.

What is more offensive, the Iraq war where thousands of innocent people have been killed, our own soldiers have been ridiculed in a disgusting manner by our own society because they were sent to war, OR freedom of speech to make a tv show where you have sex with a nun in a church?

The slaughter of so many civilians by toxic spraying over the jungle, bombs blowing up innocent children in Iraq, African American's still being the victims of racism from their very own president, our Prime Minister constantly lying to the public, corruption in our own government and police force, rapists, murdering people - THAT IS OFFENSIVE!

Nice one. Are you feeling ok?

So let me get this straight, if thats even possible. Something cannot be offensive if there are other things that are more offensive? And you shouldn't object to something if there are more important things to object to? Confused
