How long is it until Shorten gets #MeToo’d? Are the Libs saving that one for last, or are they too afraid of the long-term consequences on themselves of bringing up the allegation against him?

That's my vote done. Did the postal thing as I'm at work on polling day.

23 parties, plus 4 independents on the Senate ticket. It was tough going, but I managed to get the Greens & ALP at 22 & 23. Had to put some pretty different choices ahead of them.

Well, yes, that's the case I'm talking about. I'm just wondering whether Morrison will bring it up in the context of the election campaign. I can only presume that a lot of left-leaning people have either forgotten that he was accused of this or somehow reconciled it in their minds.

It's not like the claim clearly lacked credibility; as with so many of these things, it came down to he said/she said (and the police citing insufficient evidence to pursue an investigation), which is more or less the same evidence basis upon which so many other politicians have either been forced to resign or been organised against. (Just as recently as a few months ago, a Greens candidate was forced to step down over a single anonymous rape allegation on the eve of the Victorian election.)

Surely it's not any sense of fair play holding the Liberals back, so what's stopping them from capitalising on the #MeToo movement and seeking to severely damage Shorten's electability? Maybe a fear that skeletons in their own closet will be exposed? Or that it might blow up in their faces and somehow result in more public sympathy for him? Whatever the case, if Shorten gets through this campaign without it being brought up (a very half-hearted attempt by The Australian notwithstanding), then he really is the luckiest politician in the country.

And another dopey attention seeker tries to egg someone, this time the PM.

Quote:
A woman has been charged with common assault after allegedly striking Scott Morrison on the back of the head with an egg.

Key points:
An elderly woman was knocked over when security tackled the protester
Opposition Leader Bill Shorten said the egging was "appalling and disgraceful behaviour"
A woman carrying a carton of eggs was escorted from the Albury event
The woman, 24, allegedly walked up behind Scott Morrison and threw an egg, which bounced off his head and did not smash.

The protester, who had a carton of eggs with her, was tackled to the floor by security.

The incident happened at a Country Women's Association (CWA) event in Albury, on the NSW-Victorian border.

An elderly lady, Margaret Baxter, was knocked over during the scuffle and was helped to her feet by the PM but she did not appear to be injured.

NSW Police later confirmed the protester had been taken into custody and charged with common assault and possession of cannabis, after police allegedly found the drug on her during a search.

Whether you like our politicians or not, I do like the fact that they're able to mingle amongst people without requiring a heavily armed security detail around them. This dipshit has NFI and hopefully gets a decent kick in the arse by the court for being an idiot.

A stint in the can for these fools should put an end to this, now common behaviour of these idiots. Who, not surprisingly, are of the loonie left.
