It's a little difficult to assess why he doesn't from the TV. Might not actually be anybody down the ground to receive the ball. |

The Woey like trait of holding it up and waiting for a target is a bad habit to get into in the modern (fast) game.
Other than that, the kid is a joy to watch and coming along very nicely. |

It's equally (if not worse) as bad as blazing away if there is no target or a poor percentage contest.
I loved watching Pendles direct traffic when he got the ball. _________________ ƒوك |

I'm not sure where all this angst regarding Pendles is coming from. For a kid with only 11 games under his belt I reckon he's coming along just beautifully. I agree with the Del Santo comparisons, and I'd even throw in Simon Black. He's got time, and has wonderful disposal skills. When he and Daisy both bulk up a bit, they will form the basis of a super on-ball brigade. Being youngsters, they will both have up and down games, but overall we should be rapt with their development thus far. |

Pendles knows when he has time. He knows when doesn't. It is an instinct and not very common. He reads the play like he watching it on a TV at the same time. He also is a wonderful perciever of opportunity.
There is so much to get excited about this lad and now the cup is more than half full.
Start saving now for finals tickets people, because in the next 10 years we are going to buying a lot more than we have been used to lately. _________________ "MAKE COLLINGWOOD GRATE AGAIN" |

Agreed. I don't mind if he takes a moment to pinpoint the best option, providing the disposal is accurate and the target holds up his end of the deal by getting it cleanly. |

maybe he takes his time to see who he is passing to. its not the player kicking lace out that should get a clanger its the player that doesnt receive the pass. all teams have go to players. pendles gets the ball our go to players have to learn were to position themselves when he does. he will captain the club 1 day !!! |

Injury permitting, he will be one of the few players able to be nominated this year that will play all of the year.
Others likely are;
- Gibbs
- Ryder |

A longterm midfield brigade of 'Sparky' Thomas, Pendles, Dids, Heater and Swan will finally deliver us the class we've been lacking. |

He has been shitloads better than gibbs so far this year.....better than Murphy too. haven't seen much of Ryder, but if last years award was anythign to go by....a defender wont win it even if he is twice as good as teh goal-kicking midfielder he is competing against.
Id actually be more worried by Tom Hawkins at this stage, given a tall forward is such a rare position to see a kid dominate in so early, it will attract him a lot of notice if he can keep it up. |
